This test we should see faster times. I'm sure the teams will want to see how fast they can be too. Reliability was the main focus in the 1st test but speed & setup should be the aim here.

19 drivers for tomorrow. Quite a lot. Robert Kubica is the only reserve driver who participates in pre-season tests. The rest is full-time drivers.

Orlem is not paying so much money in sponsorship for nothing. Kubica is happier at Alfa Romeo too.

You're absolutely right. We all know that. Orlen (not Orlem) :)

Wonder if Ferrari will have a proper "GO" for a flying lap.

Kubica fastest by eight tenths. Can Kimi and Giovanazzi make the most of that car and bring a long awaited championship to Italy?

Multiple drivers spinning on 1st day of 2nd test. There were quite a few offs today as well. Apparently it was too cold for tyres.
Also little surprised by lack of enthusiasm amongst F1 fans about this whole testing. This year I am seeing considerably less interaction even on social media. Last year the twitter was absolutely going mad with shots of every little new component the lenses managed to grab at the circuit.
Seeing almost next to nothing of that this year. Whatever little info and pics coming out are seeing very little to no interaction. :?: :uhoh:

P.S. Even pf1 forums are so silent.

Could it be because Mercedes seem to have shown they will dominate 2020 already?

Have they though? Theyve shown the DAS. Its benefit in terms of its impact on the overall package is yet to be seen. A lot of sources are pointing towards Red Bull being fairly competitive out of the box as well.

It's only testing. A resurgent Ferrari in recent years has fuelled excitement for what was to come.. and the paddock was awash with excitement that Ferrari had finally developed the quickest car last year.. this year expectations were pummeled a little with all the media hype over the DAS.

Stable regs and a massive shift next year means most teams cars will be fairly stable.

Come on guys, look at the times it's pretty clear Alfa Romeo are about to end their near 70 year drought.

Maybe closer than last year, but 2020 is still a Merc year. Nothing in my view has shown that the others have caught up with Merc, not after 4 days of testing. If nothing else, Mercedes brought out a new weapon. Even without the DAS they'd be a 80-90% bet for the WDC/WCC in my view. I do hope I'll eat my hat and we do get an exciting season with a different WDC/WCC, but it is more of wishful thinking at this point.

I wouldn’t be hugely surprised but also wouldn’t be surprised to see them half a second down for the first half of the season.

Colder track, unknown fuel, laps, etc. I.e. don't look too much into it

Do they have any real reliability issues?? Apart from little hick ups that they iron out, just like everyone else

Mercedes have suffered less in the last few years than their customer teams when it comes to engine reliability I think, I doubt they’ll be overly concerned.

Certainly just teething issues or perhaps installation problems.. I think Mercedes had an issue last Thursday or Friday? Seems to be nothing major, bar whatever happened in the Williams last week.

Bottas had to curtail his last run 15 mins before the end of the morning session with some kind of engine problem, over 2 hours later the car is still in the garage.

In the garage for over 2 hours, then fails again after 30 mins, it's somewhat concerning with just 1 day of testing left.

Well you would get an oil pressure issue soon after an engine failure.

Williams already lapping 2-3 secs faster than in qualifying in 2019 is quite nice - They will still be probably dead last but maybe the gap will not be that embarrassing
