Thanks ! Surtees was the driver of my youth, when I started to follow motor racing more closely. He had everything to please me though I wouldn't have been able at the time to explain it. I noticed years later that he was the type of human being that I like, tough but fair, a man of dedication, few words and not ready to trade his real self for success. As a racing driver (he was one the 3 best for me, the other one being Clark, and the third changing according to my mood) he remains my benchmark.
Now my n° 20

My best friend had one. I loved them - they had everything that you needed, and nothing that you didn't need
I actually witnessed a 2CV race, at Oulton Park. I'm sure that, if you filmed it, then showed it at fast forward, it would have been exciting, lol
Pretty sure that it was only over about 3 laps - had it been any more, nightfall would have drawn in. This was in July
I know it's off topic, but I had to reply.....
I'm another 2CV fan. I had two friends who both had yellow 2CV Clubs when we were 17 years old (like the one in For Your Eyes Only). There was even a 2CV owners club local to us called the Wessex Ducks and we'd regularly join them on trips around the New Forest in convoy with around 30 2CVs!
One guy had even fitted an engine from a Citroen BX in one and lowered it etc. And another that had a 2CV shell (with extended wheel arches to make it wide enough) that he fitted onto Sierra XR4x4 chassis and running gear!
I didn't have one, my first car was a Mk5 Ford Cortina

200 francs for a programme in 1954?
The ticket prices are mentioned on the Zandvoort poster, interestingly, the grandstand was reserved for members of the Royal Automobile Club of the Netherlands.
Also, it isn't a 'Grote Prijs', just a 'Prijs'. I wonder why.

The price is in "Anciens Francs". January 1st 1960, we were offered "Nouveaux Francs" by De Gaulle and Pinay, and the "Ancien Franc" was then worth 1/100 of the "Nouveau Franc".

That explains a lot!
The posters are lovely.
In 1984 I went to the Brussels Motor Show especially for this car, and for Patrick Tambay's Ferrari. Patrick was in Zolder about 10 years ago, together with René Arnoux and I didn't recognize him.

Very '60s design. And no smoking cars.
Very '60s too. The liveries were not yet smoking, but the posters already did.
Early '70s. The cars smoke (except Enzo's ones).
Back to '30s/'40s design, when less was more.

I think that JPS Ducarouge Lotus must be the most beautiful race car I've seen. With that McLaren you've posted in the top 3 as well. Thanks for posting them.
