Is it just me or are Mercedes doing everything they can to make sure Hamilton can't beat Bottas?

I don't know why though.

More deafening silence from the "can I win" question from Hamilton.
Well Bono did respond with the gaps pretty quickly to give Hamilton an overview of the task. It has been frustrating generally to hear the sort of muted responses (or sheer silence) when Lewis has asked if he has chances for the race win.

Bono just offered a more positive response indicating that his current pace will put him in contention for the win but tyre life is a question.

I think so yes. Unless they actually plan on pitting Bottas, Hamilton shouldn't need to save his tyres.

I think it's because they don't want the leading driver to lose from having a different strategy.

That's why I said "to hear". But yes I appreciate that.

I don't trust any F1 graphics. During quali, the engine not of the car, and the fingers shifting the gears were totally out of sync with the on-screen graphics.

Well I'd say this one-stopper isn't quite panning out right now for Lewis.

Apparently Pirelli were asked about it and they don't know where it comes from

It's almost like they look at how many laps they've done and how their pace is. Then guess at a percentage.

Not a chance. Bottas is going to blow by again. The one stop strategy turned out to be the slowest strategy. Surprise suprise Pirelli...

And I think that post sums up the issue with F1 these days. Not a specific dig at you btw. Just that we often look for safety cars to spice things up.

I love Pirelli, in Mexico 2 stopper is fastest so they all 1 stop, USA the 1 stopper is quickest so the 2 stopper is quickest

Thing is, cota is known for high degradation, but Pirelli is predicting one stop as fastest. it's bonkers man. I would have taken Lewis also adopting the two stop strategy. you can overtake here even on equal tires; he did it to Nico in 2014, and vettel in 2012. I would have definitely taken that chance.

Mercedes would hate nothing more than the second car to win on strategy. If the titles wasnt wrapped up they would never do this.

Hamilton winning the WDC with ease at this race. Bottas, who qualified well ahead of Lewis, might just win the race, but it's not for sure. Yet it's all a conspiracy against Lewis again. Jeepers. Are you all for real?

Hamilton will win this race IMO. Mercedes made a mistake putting Bottas on softs. They should have put him on mediums. He could have pushed those until the end as opposed to having to manage the tyres.
