Replace a universally applauded purpose-built road course with yet another temporary, mickey mouse street circuit? Nonsense!
Oh I agree but look at the financial disaster COTA has been. It apparently is barely afloat according to the stuff I read and heard when I was there last year.

That's only because of the hosting fees in the existing contract. There are other series that race at COTA for a fraction of the cost. If they can host F1 for a fee on par with Indy,
COTA would be perfectly fine. Personally, I think it's absurd to have to pay any series to race at your facility and it should be something that's mutually beneficial for both parties and ALL revenues should be split accordingly. No one should have to dole out so much money that they need to recuperate it or face going belly up.

lmao, some people have been known to fish off those loud, toxic boats too.....plenty of loud ferrari's on miami streets too. shame on all of them
from some of the specifics those folks got into, i think they were coached on what to bring up, by an environmental group.
stinks that this race looks much less likely now

You'd think Liberty would lower the fees to keep COTA profitable?

Looks like this week could be a decisive one for this:

The stupid thing about all this push back from those old decrepit LYING geezers is that they'll continue to protest the race, but the moment the earnings are announced they'll be the first to cut the line and hold their hands out ALA Tony Soprano to Ralph Cifaretto (after Pie O my wins his race), and WHEN that happens I hope they tell them bye Felicia and don't let the door hit cha where the good lord split cha!

Fingers crossed they kill it off. For me this proposal sums up everything that's wrong with a lot of the newer F1 venues: it's all style and image over substance.
