Two-stopper for Vettel. Bottas covering off. Will Hamilton try for a one-stopper..?

Don't understand how people didn't see that vettel didn't jump from his starting box. He moved slightly, but instantly breaked. He didn't look to leave the area he must stay in until lights went out.

Exactly the same as Kimi that got a penalty.

How has Leclerc not got a penalty yet? Max is out of the race and Leclerc continued with a damaged car, ignoring team instructions and spraying debris around.

How does it differ from Austria?

Oh yeah,, we're in Japan.

Pretty daft to assume I'm talking about contact between him and Verstappen in a bog standard racing incident, but yes that was more on Leclerc.

He drives around with damage and ends up disintegrating his car into the path of Hamilton. It was dangerous and stupid.
Right. Agree with that. Leclerc should've pitted straight away. Very dangerous.

Mercs strategy of keeping you out until the other driver makes up all the time before you have to pit, well worked that one.

Hamilton is bloody annoyed. Can't blame him really -- he's lost an awful lot of time staying out on softs and is told the 1-stopper will be a struggle on his mediums.

Basic Merc strategy for the second car, this time being Hamilton.

To find out your team have kept you out so long that you are now a pitstop behind, his race is now over.

Another unfathomable strategy from merc has ended this race. Again should have given Hamilton an undercut on vettel but chickened out so reverted back to their "stay out until you can't turn anymore" strat which has never ever paid off

It really isn't. Kimi moved significantly more than Vettel. I have watched the highlights of Kimi's start that i recorded. He got his front wheels outside the box while the lights were still red. Vettel started, moved a tiny fraction and stopped before he left his box. Then smartly, only had a slight delay when the lights went out.

Understandable why kimi got one and Vettel didn't. If you watch them both, you can see how different the situation is.

How can they know that Hamilton's tyres are not good to the end plus no way will Hamilton agree to pit if he feels his tyres are still good.

Ferrari are getting the benefit of the doubt and the FIA breaking so many precedents they previously set.

Potentially Bottas thrown under the bus, Hamilton won’t pit again.

There's no reason for Bottas to not push with not many laps to go on fresh enough softs, so he should take matters into his own hands anyway.
