What a cluttered mess :D

Cheaper watches mean you can read the time on them. More expensive seem to make it way more difficult.

That's because past about $1000 it's not a watch so much as it's culturally approved jewelry for men to wear on their wrists.

Tag heuer ones were much better IMO. This looks pretty bad and I think not suited for expensive or formal wear as well. This is more like a jeans t shirt watch :?

I'm not a fan of the Richard Mille watches. They just look too over the top, kind of like the ~$100 knock-off watches that want you to think they're expensive. Except these actually are, of course.

Is he going to wear it while driving though? :) (For what it's worth, I think it's a very pretty movement in a pretty ugly case. If I'm in Kimi's position I'm probably not going to say no though..)

It looks cool with all the quirky dials and colors. I am not into watches, but I'm sure those who collect them would dig it.

So €1,120,570 eh?

2 questions.

1. What does it do that makes it that much better than my $300 Casio G Shock.

2. How the hell did they did they come up with the €1,120,570 price tag? They could've put a €1,120,500 or a €1,120,600 value on it but no, it had to be €1,120,570.

Don't you mean one extra zero?

Three would make it overpriced at £100,000,000. (While now it is totally affordable!)

1. That's a dumb argument, why does the iPhone cost so much? RM watches are made in very small numbers, many of them trade used at more than their list price because demand is greater than supply.

2. It's probably priced in Swiss Francs and that is the Euro equivalent.

No it's not a dumb argument thanks. An iphone is not just a phone & the Iphone X for example has different features than it's Samsung competitor, the Galaxy S9. Also, Just because you might think the Iphone's over priced, & i'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, that doesn't justify the outrageous price tag on the watch.

AFAICT, the RM watch is just a watch that, like a zillion other watches, has a stop watch & shows the date. While it's constructed from Titanium, Vanadium & Carbon etc, it's not made of fairy dust & it's not powered by Unicorn farts. It's a US $1.2m watch that appears to have fewer features than my watch that was 4000 times cheaper.

But, in the end, to each their own. If you've got enough F you cash to be able to blow it on a million dollar watch then I doff my cap to you, especially if you earned the right to buy one. Personally though, if I was going to fork out that kind of cash for a timepiece, i'd be expecting something more like Big Ben towed around behind me on a trailer that just a fancy watch

That's precisely right Jezza13.

I am a watch FANATIC, like I have literally gotten to work and told my boss I cannot function without my watch, so I'm going home to get it and I'll be right back.
My cousin is a high-end time piece dealer who specializes in all things Rolex (what a surprise SMH) and he's always on my to buy one and I always tell him hell no!
I'm not spending any money on a watch that by today's standard looks and feels like a woman's watch, and it's not the best watch money can buy and he gets upset.
The only Rolex worth the price (sort of) is the Milgauss because it's specifically engineered for Astronauts so it's impervious to magnetic fields. Once out of the earth's
atmosphere, quartz watches and and even electronic ones can go haywire and malfunction, whereas the Milgauss will not. However, ti does not tell time any better than
many other watches.

The watch industry has become saturated with companies whom produce good watches that are then slapped with exorbitant price tags in the hopes to attract attention
and create a buzz. About 10 years ago a young up and coming watch designer formed AdeeKaye and initially he introduced his time pieces at several thousand dollars
and initially it was working, until sales fell flat and now those same watches sell for about $500-$800, which shows they were way overpriced to begin with simply because
people will buy expensive things just because. I own an AdeeKaye and it's a fantastic watch and is absolutely waterproof (not water resistant as it has a helium release valve)
but I paid $150 for it as that was the wholesale price my cousin bought it for.

And while I own many watches, my Seiko Sportura is the most accurate time piece I have ever owned and it has proven to be more accurate than Rolex and TAG Heuer,
to the tune of winning $200 on a year long wager. And interestingly enough, I just changed the battery on it for the first time ever after 8 years! And it cost $500 initially
and can now be had for $200-ish.

Hublot makes "limited Edition" Ayrton Senna watches from time to time and sell them for hefty sums, but the proceeds go to the Ayrton Senna foundation his sister runs
which helps youth and communities in Brazil, so I can maybe forgive that one.

Ever look into Patek Phillippe or Audemars Piguet?!?!? Those crooks outright lie about hand building everything when in fact they're merely hand assembled like most other
high-end watches, yet people will spend several hundred thousand on one just to say they have one. And ridiculously they appreciate over time and people flip them for a profit.

You could buy a home and a Ferrari for what some of these things sell for. Just insanity at its finest. LOL
