The Hulk went out first then basically stopped his car on the track.
Why single out Hulkenberg. Any of the drivers could've hit the accelerator & crossed the line in time.pokerman wrote:Blame the drivers, blame the Hulk.Asphalt_World wrote:Yeah, cos F1 isn't broke..........
Blame the drivers just as much. Vertually all of them went stupidlly slow. the teams left it late but gave them enough time. I blame both but mainly the driver.Paolo_Lasardi wrote:pokerman wrote:What a joke
Absolutely - and for once it is not FIA to blame but only the teams.
A disgrace for the sport and very bad for the fans who paid a lot of money for this farce.
And the others couldn't have passed him? He's no more at fault than anybody else.pokerman wrote:The Hulk went out first then basically stopped his car on the track.
Pretty sure it was a Renault and McLaren going side by side through Curva Grande, looked like neither wanted to be in front of the other. Nobody else could get past.mikeyg123 wrote:And the others couldn't have passed him? Not all some of the cars at the front were blocking the track.TheGiantHogweed wrote:Blame the drivers just as much. Vertually all of them went stupidlly slow. the teams left it late but gave them enough time. I blame both but mainly the driver.Paolo_Lasardi wrote:pokerman wrote:What a joke

Both Ferrari's got past leading up to the Roggia then it was I think Leclerc slowed.Black_Flag_11 wrote:Pretty sure it was a Renault and McLaren going side by side through Curva Grande, looked like neither wanted to be in front of the other. From what he said, he backed off just before the finish line. I think that is the reason he had his time back on the board. I actually think he could have got pole if he was just a tiny bit further up.Johnson wrote:Surely Bottas can’t keep that time, he went 0.059 off pole driving through a yellow flag zone.
Completely agree!mikeyg123 wrote:So we had two drivers deliberately drive through the run off and another ignore yellow flags.
After what we've seen the last 8 days.
And people wonder why I'm blase about safety. None of the drivers genuinely care.
No just the ones at the front.mikeyg123 wrote:And the others couldn't have passed him? He's no more at fault than anybody else.pokerman wrote:The Hulk went out first then basically stopped his car on the track.
It was Hulkenberg, you cant be doing that.F1_Ernie wrote:Who was driving that Renault at the start and went of the track on purpose?, that has to be a penalty.
Am I missing something here... What was stopping anyone getting round in time? If the car in front is too slow go round then and get your lap in.pokerman wrote:No just the ones at the front.mikeyg123 wrote:And the others couldn't have passed him? Yes they blocked the track.Black_Flag_11 wrote:Pretty sure it was a Renault and McLaren going side by side through Curva Grande, looked like neither wanted to be in front of the other. Wouldn't surprise me if theres some action taken against them both given this was something they told the drivers not to do after the F3 stuff.
Well that's no good is it....TheGiantHogweed wrote:From what he said, he backed off just before the finish line. I think that is the reason he had his time back on the board. Yep slam dunk penalty for the Hulk.Asphalt_World wrote:Going through a run off area intentionally should result in a penalty. They are for cars with mechanical issues or flying off out of control. Any can in there should bring out yellow flags and can effect other cars which is not fair.
I don't think there is a penalty for it though as long as you don't gain an advantage, which, I suppose when you think about it, that's exactly what Hulkenberg was trying to do.F1_Ernie wrote:Who was driving that Renault at the start and went of the track on purpose?, that has to be a penalty.
That was only for a short moment. There was plenty of time to get around slow cars. It's just that no one was in a hurry to do that. Alternatively, they could have left the pits a minute earlier and this farce would not have taken place.pokerman wrote:If you watch the Ferrari's and Mercs were trying to get past but the track was blocked.
Leclerc did the same thing earlier on as well so should be one for him too. And Bottas of course for ignoring yellow flags.pokerman wrote:Yep slam dunk penalty for the Hulk.Asphalt_World wrote:Going through a run off area intentionally should result in a penalty. Sainz and Hulkenberg were the two cars at the front, and they were blocking the track in a way that no one else could get past. Monza is quite a narrow track and with no tarmac runoff on the Curva Grande it is possible for two cars to form a roadblock.mikeyg123 wrote:Am I missing something here... Did you not see the track was blocked, Vettel was waving for the cars running 2 abreast to get out of the way.mikeyg123 wrote:Am I missing something here... For a couple of seconds. What about the 30 seconds or so leading up to that?pokerman wrote:If you watch the Ferrari's and Mercs were trying to get past but the track was blocked.
I'm a Ferrari fan and regardless of who went through the chicane on purpose, a penalty system should be instigated as a rule. They are there for safety, not tactics.mikeyg123 wrote:Leclerc did the same thing earlier on as well so should be one for him too. Bottas apparently slowed down, he said it cost him pole.mikeyg123 wrote:Leclerc did the same thing earlier on as well so should be one for him too. Backing off just before the finish line. That would be AFTER the actual incident. The reason for having to back off. If he went past Kimi full bore and ignored the flags he should get a penalty time deleted or not.TheGiantHogweed wrote:Well you are not explaining much. He was leading the pack into the Roggio. I'd think he should've made the start - finish line easily after thatpokerman wrote:Did you not see the track was blocked, Vettel was waving for the cars running 2 abreast to get out of the way.mikeyg123 wrote:Am I missing something here...
