Not sure about the top 5 getting a tow but Bottas a minimum of 12 k/hr faster than anyone else?

That has to be suction assisted.

It's pretty impressive that all four engine mfgs. (Merc, Ferrari, Renault, & Honda) are represented in the top 5 fastest cars. All posted times within 0.3 sec. of each other.

I don't think we can say yet we are getting to a rough engine parity, but it seems a lot closer than it was a few years ago.

Yes, although I think it's only the one at Parabolica. My guess is that those at the chicanes are deemed OK due to the lack of speed compared to Parabolica.

Still can't work out why marshal posts don't all have simple jacks and wheeled trays to place under F1 cars that need removing. Always annoys me how long it takes for them to remove cars due to the pitiful steering lock F1 cars have.

A simply rule ensuring all F1 cars are designed for a universal front and rear jack would be all that's needed.

Was it actually engine issues in austria last year that caused them both to retire? I think this engine in the mercedes itself has been just fine. I think the last time it clearly had an issue was spain 2017 if i remember with Bottas. It is the other teams using that seem to be suffering.

I am talking about issues resulting in retirement durign the race. That vertually never seems to happen to the mercedes team.

Long straight, Parabolica, Long strait is just brilliant. Every circuit should have similar. We've seen this corner testing drivers all weekend. Now Kimi's lost it.

Rule change:

For a red flag in qualy, the flag should be applied only between the start line and the accident. This would stop incidents like this costing Bottas his lap, for no reason.

I wonder if because of the circumstances if Hamilton will give Bottas a tow as he's missed out with no time set.

Only if he went off. It's inconclusive at the moment. The onboard seemed to show he just stayed over the white line whereas another view perhaps shows differently.

What an absolute farce, seriously. How can you be so fixated on a tow that you forget to actually start a lap. Embarrassing.

My point is that this happened. A simple rule that you have to leave the pits with a certain amount of time before the race would mean that they're not leaving it until the last second. Say you have to be on track 3 minutes before time is up. That would have sorted it as they wouldn't have gone much slower than they did as the tyres would be stone cold.

And I'm not blaming Hulk any more than the others.
