Worth mentioning to all british viewers that if you haven't been keen on sky recently, Channel 4 are covering every session live this wekend. Only time to get the chance all year. Will make a nice change!

Was Austria the top of a slippery slope for Hamilton? Will we see Red Bull and Ferrari topping the podium more regularly now? Will McLaren start to feature more in the top 10, or even possibly top 5?
I think Silverstone might provide some answers!
:-)

I feel that things will return to the 2019 status quo - a comfortable Mercedes win with Max and Ferrari scrapping for the remainder of the places.

I'd say 'no' to the top of the podium, and 'yes' to McLaren. I think we can expect to see at least one Macca in the top ten at every race.

My guess is that Merc will return to the front and be comfortably the team to beat but the gap will have closed a little bit

In races where hot weather dominates and causes overheating for the Mercedes power unit they may lose the dominance to the point where a win is no longer certain. However, its going to be nowhere near a reversal of fortune for Hamilton and Bottas.
McLaren's fortunes are on the up with the revamped Renault PU a significant part of the resurgence. Question is will Renault or Honda power reach the Ferrari/Merc levels?

If they do then Red Bull will need to look over their shoulder, I'm not sure they are as far ahead of the rest as they seem to believe and LN, DR, CS are no slouches!

Gravel trap has been brought closer to the kerb to prevent cars from putting all their 4 wheels on the outside of the kerb.
Turn 17 has also got some changes:

Good. They should be suitably discouraged for exceeding the track limits. Austria is a good example of this, with some of those sausage kerbs that potentially damage the car if you stray. That last GP was a decent example: at one point Hamilton looked set to potentially challenge Leclerc with his strategy, until he damaged his wing and ultimately went backwards with what looks like the result of running wide at T1.
Edit: Didn't take into consideration the engine heating issues that Merc had in Austria; it's probably a bit unfair to blame the damage alone.

I can't help but wonder what the rationale was for having the previous situation in the first place. Was 'safety' used as an excuse?

If you are English and an F1 fan the this is crucial information.

Channel 4 are going to show the cricket til 1.15pm on Sunday, then cut to the F1 Grand Prix with the cricket going to More 4, before returning to Lord's coverage after the race.

A double would be nice Go for it Lando !!!!

What a disappointment.... I had set my freeview box to record all 4 and a half hours of the coverage as one program. That won't be possible now and half of it won't be in HD. Really poor.
And just reading the words "Thanks to our strong relationship with Channel 4" makes me hate sky so much! Yea right, you who made yourself exclusively live and strictly limited what channel 4 can offer. You could at least be nice enough to allow them to cover everything in the highlights, but that is not the case. I hope i will still be able to set it to record and not have it in multiple parts. This is an issue if the race gets extended - and the reason why i record it all as one. England may now be in the world cup, but this late change of coverage to something that was going to happen no matter what is a bit poor in my view.

"Are we sure Ericsson didn't hit him?"

Haha.

I know why he crashed, though. Obviously because the graphics bugged out. Understandable, I sometimes go off just because of a bad framerate drop.
