I know this type of sport often splits the F1 crowd, but to me it's the greatest motorsport event of the entire year. I just love it and will watch as much of the 24 hours as my body allows! Plus it's fathers day weekend in the UK so a damn good excuse to spend many many hours in my recliner

Final quali on now and watching them in the night is simply wonderful.

I will watch some of it but I can't say it has me on the edge of my seat.

I'll be watching as much as I can, but I'm behind on sleep as it is right now. But with Stoffel there in a competitive car, I will definitely be rooting for him. Recently I have been working on the pictures I took at the 6 hours of Francorchamps, including snapping him coming by in the snow. I hope Le Mans won't have 4 seasons in 1 hour as we had there. It was the first time I saw a temperature of 1°Celsius on the old control tower electronic boards, and I was glad I brought my motorcycle rain gloves with me. Not easy taking pictures with them, but I managed. :D

Go Stoffel, and show F1 and McLaren why they were wrong to concentrate only on Alonso. You definitely have the Right Stoff! :-D

I love Le Mans. Watching the night time on boards is mesmerizing, and even though they are all racing each other to me it feels like they are battling with the circuit too.

They are. You have to look at all the sessions as there's more than one quali session for Le Mans.

I love Le Mans. I like when there are a lot of F1 drivers in the field. Last year was cool with Alonso. Dusk to night is so cool to watch.

They are really fantastic looking cars, and I love the fact that the hybrid systems will not be mandatory.

If it's performance balanced does that really matter?

Well yes, my thinking was it allows development in both areas so both might improve.

Here we go. Grass cut, pets fed, shopping purchased. I'm now in my recliner, latte to the right, one of my dogs by my feet. 24 hours here we come!

Although I will always consider myself a F1 fan first and foremost, Le Mans is my favorite race, only wish Audi and Porsche had not given up on there LMP1 programs. I always am in admiration of the teams, especially around 2 AM when I can barely stay awake. Being a driver doing the 24 is fairly easy these days, 4 hours max, then go back to the trailer, have a nice meal, take a shower, get a massage, some sleep and then back in the car. The crews never leave the pits, sleep on the floor and eat when they have time. The hardest job has to be the guys staring at all the screens in the pit wall, staring at the never ending blizzard of numbers for 24 hours without falling asleep has to be really hard, all though I am sure it helps having the roar of the main straight to keep you awake, but everything else is just lulling you to sleep. I hope the weather holds out this year, rain ruined the Rolex 24 at Daytona this year, hopefully it will stay dry for the most part.

What a brilliant opening hour in the GT classes. Astonishing close racing when you consider they've got 23 hours to go!

So, here we are 2.5 hours in to the race and still loads of on track action So great that all cars in all classes can follow closely through the corners. F1, take note!

Top three of the GTE Pro class all still in the same shot this is some battle!

Eurosport commentators are such a breath of fresh air compared to Croft shouting at every small event in F1. Makes it so much more enjoyable the way they've a more chilled approach to racing commentary.

Yes. They are great Carlton Kirby is so good and as a cycling fan, he's bloody good at talking us through that too.

So, 5 hours in and the top 3 in GT Pro are all within 1.5 seconds!!!!!

Porsche, Ferrari and Corvette, not even all the same make or team orders going on!

So after 8 hours, the lead Toyota in LMP1 is just 10 seconds ahead of the second placed Toyota.

LMP2 the lead car is only 11 second ahead of the second placed car.

GTE PRO, lead Porsche is 10 second ahead of second placed Corvette which is just 1 second ahead of third placed Ferrari and that is only half a second ahead of 4th placed Ford!!!!!

GTE AM Lead car just 12 second ahead of second placed car.

So close across the race after 8 hours is amazing.

Yeah, but I don't have cable anymore. I found a workaround anyway, though - plugging a laptop into the TV and going to the MoterTrend website to stream.

Personally I'm a fan of both sports and I struggle to work out which one he spoils the most with his babbling, but I guess it's a subjective thing.

Suddenly looking on for the 8 car after puncture issues for the 7. 25 second gap with final stops done and 18 min to go. Sounds like Toyota may have called it. Shame for the 7 really after leading for so long and looking like the faster of the two all week.

Very happy for Stoffel Vandoorne; a great result in his first two races in the WEC. Very sad to see the "wrong" Toyota win the race, but that's how the centime drops sometimes.

Once again, the greatest race of the year has come and gone. It was glorious, although I am definitely still woozy from watching so much of this wonderful race. As a huge fan of the Dane Train, I am severely disappointed they got hammered with a BOP (balance of performance) change less than 24 hours before the start of the race. But then again, the more prestigious the race, the more politics is played out. With the exception of the politics and areas of gross incompetence by the ACO in running this race (safety cars, really?) it was truly glorious and epic.

Pretty amazing show this year. I probably saw about 4 hours of it in total but there was some really good racing. Shocking to see what happened to the other Toyota. It seems Alonso's luck in WEC is the opposite of his luck in F1! Great race overall!

Thoroughly enjoyed Le Mans again this year. I didn't attempt to stay up for the full 24 for the first time in years but I think I caught the majority of all the key moments. And yet again it delivered a sting in the tail. I feel so bad for Mike Conway, he's overdue some major success

Yeah it sucked for the #7 and Conway in particular, the #8 was nowhere all race. Congrats to Alonso and the #8 crew for the Championship though. Alonso got his 3rd World Title in the end, just not where expected lol.

I was surprised that Nakajima is the first FIA World Champion from Japan though, I heard the commentators talking about it and was genuinely surprised so extra congrats to him assuming that's true.

Conway and Koba have been 2nd four times now at Lemans, I hope they can finish the job next year as they deserved to this year.

This is good, but not necessarily less expensive than an LMP1 program.

What I'm not a fan of are "Manufacturers" fielding cars under their badge they had nothing to do with and don't produce/supply the powertrain powering it.
Aston Martin should stick to the lower categories fielding cars they actually built and withheld entering anything else until they design and build it from the ground up themselves.
That's a real thorn in my side.

I agree. There's been some really made up teams branded by big names recently. Really doesn't do it for me.
