The results from the China TMW vote are as follows:
Mercedes
TMW race winner: Hamilton (100%)
Hamilton 2 - 1 Bottas
Hamilton 54% - 46% Bottas
After scoring precisely 0 votes in the first TMW vote of the season, Lewis Hamilton has rebounded as emphatically as you would expect a five time WDC to do. He picks up his second successive TMW win and returns the favour from Australia, performing so well that not a single vote was cast for his teammate. It means he moves into the lead in both the percentage and head-to-head scores for the first time in 2019. Is this as close as things will be between the Mercedes pair, or can Bottas respond?
Ferrari
TMW race winner: Vettel (61%)
Vettel 2 - 1 Leclerc
Vettel 45% - 55% Leclerc
The closest vote in China was that of the Ferrari pair, with just five votes splitting them. Experience pays off, though, as Seb takes the TMW victory and with it, a 2-1 advantage for the season. However Leclerc's performance in Bahrain gave him enough of the votes that he maintains the percentage vote lead, 11 votes clear of his teammate's total of 45 so far. It continues to suggest that at Ferrari, things are going to be pretty close for the duration of the year.
Red Bull
TMW race winner: Verstappen (96%)
Verstappen 3 - 0 Gasly
Verstappen 99% - 1% Gasly
Well on the plus side for Pierre Gasly, he appears to have picked up a sympathy vote so can now claim 1% of the vote for the season. That's about the only positive I can find for him as another heavy defeat at Max's hands sees him leave China in the worst position out of any driver. Max is already looking like he's going to dominate this the way Alonso did to Vandoorne last year.
Renault
TMW race winner: Ricciardo (95%)
Ricciardo 1 - 2 Hulkenberg
Ricciardo 23% - 77% Hulkenberg
Daniel Ricciardo is up and running for 2019! After two races and two DNFs, it was his turn to have a good weekend. It started by edging his teammate out in qualifying by 0.004 seconds and continued into the race as Nico made it all of 16 laps before a power unit problem forced him into retirement. Renault are a curious one: the expectation was that they could bridge the gap to the top three teams, yet if anything it appears they've been swallowed up by the rest of the pack. Their unreliability is also making it difficult to get a true read on the relative pace of the two drivers, which is a shame given it had looked like being one of the tastier intra-team battles.
Haas
TMW race winner: Grosjean (64%)
Magnussen 2 - 1 Grosjean
Magnussen 79% - 21% Grosjean
Another driver to get up and running in 2019 is Romain Grosjean. After needing what felt like half the season to score a TMW victory in 2018, the veteran (that feels weird to type) French-Swiss national has got on the board after a close weekend for the Haas pair. Q2 saw them separated by a mere 0.006 seconds, with both drivers amongst those who failed to set a time in Q3. The race saw both go a little backwards, however it was Grosjean who came out on top, narrowly missing out on grabbing a point. It was enough for him to secure 2/3 of the TMW vote.
McLaren
TMW race winner: Sainz (65%)
Sainz 1 - 2 Norris
Sainz 23% - 77% Norris
Continuing the theme of drivers getting their first TMW win in China, say hello to Carlos Sainz. To be fair it was a difficult race for both McLaren drivers as contact on lap one with The Torpedo saw their chances of a good race evaporate there and then. Sainz had the advantage in qualifying and it looks like that is where he's received more love from.
Racing Point
TMW race winner: Perez (100%)
Perez 2 - 1 Stroll
Perez 59% - 41% Stroll
After losing out in Melbourne, Sergio Perez continues to respond well. A strong TMW win in Bahrain is followed up by an even stronger one in China, allowing him to collect 100% of the TMW vote and take the lead both in terms of percentage and head-to-head TMW scores. Stroll's cause is certainly not being helped by his inability to escape Q1, which is at least allowing him to continue to gain places at the start. Whether you see that as a positive (he does it at most races) or a negative (it can be argued he's only able to gain so many positions because he qualifies out of position) is another matter. Either way, it wasn't enough to swing him any votes in China!
Alfa-Romeo
TMW race winner: Raikkonen (100%)
Raikkonen 3 - 0 Giovinazzi
Raikkonen 98% - 2% Giovinazzi
If Pierre Gasly has endured the toughest start to 2019, Antonio Giovinazzi isn't far behind. For the second race in a row he received precisely zero TMW votes, allowing the evergreen Kimi Raikkonen to assert his dominance and build a 3-0, 98% TMW advantage. On the plus side for Giovinazzi, for 2019 he has received twice as many votes as Pierre Gasly, but when you remember that Gasly's only received one all season it sort of dampens the positive!
Toro Rosso
TMW race winner: Albon (96%)
Albon 2 - 1 Kvyat
Albon 46% - 54% Kvyat
The closest TMW battle so far in 2019? That would be the Toro Rosso pair. Like Checo Perez, Alex Albon has had two strong races after being heavily outvoted in Australia. Receiving 21 votes more than Kvyat (whose one vote again demonstrates you can pretty much assume if a driver scores one vote at any given race, it can basically be ignored) has helped reduce the post-Melbourne deficit further, leaving him just 4% (and eight votes) down on his Russian teammate.
Williams
TMW race winner: Russell (100%)
Russell 3 - 0 Kubica
Russell 98% - 2% Kubica
Also in the same boat as Giovinazzi and Gasly is Robert Kubica. A third good result (relative to where Williams are, anyway) has meant that George Russell picked up all of the Williams TMW vote in China, increasing his total for the season to 98% and limiting Kubica to just two votes for 2019. There isn't a huge amount more that can be said about the Williams pairing; all they can strive to do is beat each other, and so far Russell is 3-for-3 in that sense.
Mercedes
TMW race winner: Hamilton (100%)
Hamilton 2 - 1 Bottas
