Almost no Indycar races on TV in Canada 2019

I know there aren't tons of Canadians on PF1 but I have to share how annoyed I am that only 2 of the 2019 IndyCar series races will be televised here! What a bunch of hooey. If you are interested, this article from norrismcdonald.ca has the ugly details. I guess I could buy a streaming subscription for $200 but come on really!

So you're problem is that it's not free to view?

Just watched qualifying in the UK on Sky Sports, pay tv, I quite like the rule that if you bring out a yellow flag and ruin another driver's lap then you lose your fastest lap up to that point in qualifying.

Good start by Felix Rosenqvist qualifying in third, he seems to shine wherever he races, I think the wrong Swede got the F1 sponsorship.

Haha obviously.
No poker, it's never been free it's always been part of the tv package a person can buy. Now it isn't available on any tv cable or satellite package at all from any provider.

Part of my frustration is that the attendance and popularity is not stellar and i hate anything that may hurt the sport that i am attached to.

Indy isn't that popular here in canada is it?

At least not compared to Formula 1. If it was TSN or sportsnet would pick it up, instead of showing poker.

Sky comes as a package, there is the basic package which includes the normal programming then you can pay for extras like Sports, Films, HD and multi-room were you can watch different sky programs in another room.

I just have the basic package with Sports and my last monthly bill was £63.50.

That part is a good rule. The thing about keeping the clock running during a red flag, however, is asinine. x(

Also happy to see Rosenqvist off to a good start. I'm rooting for him up until the Indy 500, at which point I revert to rooting for my normal favorite driver for a month!

That's not too different than how it works here. We live in a rural area so we must use Satellite, our basic plus an add on for the sports channels in HD is about $120 a month. I guess I've taken for granted all these years that I had the two big sports providers in our package.

Oh so you do actually pay for the coverage, you gave me the impression that the Indy car coverage in the past was on free to air tv.

I can understand why you wouldn't want to be paying $200 extra for Indycars, I wouldn't want to be paying for all those adverts either. :)

More Canadian BS wrt racing on TV. In the past I've had to watch RDS, the French version of TSN, to see practice or get insights from a weekly F1 show. (Shame on your TSN for not having that).

One thing I can say for sure is there's no way I'm paying extra for what could and should be free to air sports. At least no until I can get this kind of deal on my mobile plan. Currently paying north of $200 for 3 lines.

I tried streaming the St Petersburg race, but it was terrible. Where I live the internet is decent, but not good enough for live streaming (the sports channel provider had a ton of complaints so they said they would do 1 race for free). Too bad there isn't any TV option.
