What's the betting that's a testing livery and the real one will be pretty much the same as last years?

I like it but I do feel like this years grid is going to be quite dull. There's a lot of red on this, Ferrari will of course be red and I imagine Alfa will be completely red this season. HAAS and Renault predominantly black with accents of gold and yellow. Merc and Williams sporting similar colours too.

They've said in their press release it's a 'one off' livery. They haven't said what it's a one off for though.

That's a shame, while the camp one was clearly just for testing this one looks like it could have actually been a proper livery, looks damn nice too.

I have no idea how this livery is going to look in sunshine, but I rather like it.

But if Owen is right, and they do go back to last year's colours, I'll still be able to annoy Dutch fans by telling them Max is showing whose speed genes he's really inherited, by racing in the Belgian national colours.

Communal truck livery. Quite bad on the eyes.

Their test liveries are always much more interesting than the default livery the end up racing in.

It will be hard to do fast pit stops if they have to change the design colour each time to match Pirelli's tyres mark...

Yeah, I don't trust Horner when he says next year's car will look different, because they never do.

I think that's intentional. It makes it more difficult to see the shape and the aero surfaces. They've done this in previous years and then reverted to the proper livery in Melbourne.

Strange how, despite being one of the biggest, best funded teams, Red bull never seem to be on top of things in Australia. THat said, they seem to be a lot more developed this season out of the box.

I think that's because they push the boundaries more than most teams, spending extra time chasing ideas that will deliver performance down the road rather than perfecting a reliable (but slower) car in time for Melbourne. It's the direct opposite to the philosophy Renault is apparently following this year. It'll be interesting to see how both work out, but my money would be on RBR.

I don't understand why Red Bull time and time again come out with a 'testing livery' which we all know will be the standard come Melbourne.
I do hope they continue with the 'matt' finish, as its at least different.

Ultra compact body. Either Honda have finally nailed it (and McLaren will be kicking themselves) or we are going to see a very unreliable Red Bull this year.

No, I think Honda is going to be fine or at worst similar to Renault. Ferrari and Mercedes had big advantage with party mode but in the races I think it is not that bad. Not sure though Honda has any modes ? I think Renault have been working on party mode.

Pretty sure they confirmed "party" mode for this year.

Honda's latest spec quali mode was good, rumoured to have the edge on Renault so they have modes yeah, they've had them since 2016. Race pace lagged a bit, probably lacking in ERS still a bit but another good winter can solve that.

Too bad it's just the testing livery; I like it a fair amount better than the usual Red Bull livery.

Waiting to see the real livery. The packaging looks frankly insane.

But isn't their packaging the main reason for so many engine failures? McLaren too rides in this boat of tight packaging.

Yeah it's never a bad livery

Still in awe with those sidepods, or the near inexistence of them. They just "stop" after a bit.
