Vettel has never had a helpful teammate while going for a championship. I don't think he wants that now either. He's used to having to do it on merit or licking his wounds and trying again the next year.

The revisionists will be out in force come the end of the season. "The SF71H wasn't a genuine title contender." "Mercedes had the strongest package over the season." "Vettel drove well to finish 2nd in the WDC against dominant Mercedes."
It's only a revision because you left out the bit about Ferrari having a strong start. The rest, as it turned out, is true.
The revising is already going on. The three races where Vettel hurt himself in the championship is modified to his having the car to win and throwing away the entire season with mistake after costly mistake. But I suppose revision keeps the forums busy.

Hungary 2017 they urgently pitted Kimi to stop him over cutting Vettel.
Perez has won Formula B for the last three years and if things finish as they are now he will go back to the top of that table. Such a consistent high performer of the past 4 seasons.

Yet he has always had a slow teammate. Webber was kinda quick in 2010 but not fast enough to challenge Vettel, reliability hurt Seb a lot that season.
That didn't stop Webber from refusing to assist Vettel when he had no chance at the championship or from driving aggressively against him at the starts (i.e., Brazil 12).

Never going to happen. Kimi was not going to do it and Sebastian wouldn't ask. The championship is all but at an end, it would be farcical.
Since when has driving a car as fast as you can in F1 been a petty act?
So why didn't he set fastest lap before that?
Wait, why shouldn't he have? Is he supposed to be worried about Hamilton's GC? Of course Vettel waited to make sure his car (which had damage) made it to the end, then took her for a spin without a single thought to anyone but himself.
Entertaining race on the whole. I don't wish that on Seb and Dan, but they really kept the race alive tonight.

He said this earlier too. I can only think he is dehydrated and unable to think straight at the moment. No driver is going to slow and pleasantly wait for you to regain the track after an off.

Wow, looks like Hamilton is really going to need those 7 points from Russia, isn't he?
PICK 10 COMPETITION (6 wins, 18 podiums):3rd in 2016 TOP THREE CHAMPIONSHIP (No Limit Excedrin Racing):Champions in 2015 & 2018 | 2nd in 2017 & 2019 AUTOSPORT GP PREDICTOR: 2017 USA & P-F1 Champion
- Undisputed dominance of Mercedes, their car looks stable and fast, as well as easiest to drive.
- I didn't know that you can turn into half side competitor, who duly keeps his inner line, and make him spin without penalty. In other words, interesting tactics.
- Ferrari lost it, clearly is not anymore top car.
- There are at least some half-fun battles midfield, as shown by the Japanese coverage.
- Renault also lost the development battles.
- I am not that sure anymore that Gasly and Leclerc are such a worthy inheritors of top seats, but time will tell.
- Alonso is annoying overly much.
- Again fun factor and excitement is missing F1.

Yes let's just ignore all of Vettel's driving mistakes which also includes yesterdays qualifying and he had a collision in the race, just blame it all on Ferrari.
Lewis Hamilton #44
World Drivers Titles: 7 (1st)
Grand Prix Wins: 95 (1st)
Pole Positions: 98 (1st)
Podiums: 165 (1st)

First opportunity now I see Bottas given his win back, easy to say such things with hindsight.
It was easy to say it at the time, too. I'm not saying it with hindsight.

I didn't watch qualifications, so I can't even ignore it .
That was as cozy of a win as Hamilton could ask for. The championship is over now. I'd lay odds 99% that Hamilton wins it. Well deserved too. No major errors all year and he has made the difference for Mercedes; winning races and controlling the championship while Ferrari had the stronger package.
Mercedes have upheld their end of the bargain too as they have now eclipsed Ferrari in development yet again. Ferrari are truly defeated and they will have to have doubts about whether they can hang with Mercedes for an entire season. We've seen two years in a row where they were in an extremely close battle for the championship before Mercedes pulled away in the later part of the season. Hamilton and Mercedes are truly making an assault on the record books and there's at least two more years where they will be up front. We'll see if Ferrari or Red Bull can overthrow them but Hamilton will firmly be the favorite going into next season.
For Vettel, this has been a train wreck of a season. At this stage, this season has to be considered the worst of his career or at least second worst (behind 2014). There are mistakes almost every session now and I can't help but wonder whether he's in a bad place psychologically. He's at the age when most drivers produce their best performance level; combining their talent and speed with the savvy and experience that they didn't have as youngsters. Instead he seems more shaky and impatient than ever before.
He'll need to have a good off-season to get away from the scrutiny and the cameras for a while and hit the reset button because this season has been a disaster. I think having Leclerc come to the team might light a fire under him. The alternative is that it could spell the end of his time at Ferrari. Make no mistake, if Charles gets the better of him, Vettel will be let go after his contract is up.
Why are they throwing a VSC every time a car is parked directly in front of a gap in the barrier. In dry weather surely that can be covered with double yellows. They have done 3-4 times this year but also not done it on other occasions.

It is not a mistake to pass Max. It is bogus to say that people trying to win championships should not try to pass Max. I would rather Vettel never win a championship rather than tip toe around Max because he drives like a wild man. In any case, he will learn only when he himself goes for a championship and others are out there carelessly getting into racing incidents with him.

What is more, they show a caption saying 'Hazard on track, ..." whch is simply not true.
Use every man after his desert, and who should scape whipping? Use them after your own honour and dignity.

If Hamilton wins in Austin, Vettel must finish second to take the title fight on to the Mexican GP
If Hamilton finishes second, Vettel must finish fourth
If Hamilton finishes third, Vettel must finish sixth
If Hamilton finishes fourth, Vettel must finish seventh
If Hamilton finishes fifth, Vettel must finish eighth
If Hamilton finishes sixth, Vettel must finish ninth
If Hamilton finishes seventh or lower, the title race goes on to Mexico
