A little surprised this hasn't made it to the forum yet, I think it is a very deserving news in a motorsport forum. And in such troubling times, it is perhaps even more fitting.
We have our first female bike World Champion! Congratulations to Ana Carrasco!

Okay, well on topic I don't really know much about motorcycle racing, and certainly not regional motorcycle racing. Was she racing against a decent field? Is there a feeling she can go higher up the tiers?
Either way, big congratulations for her.

She's already been higher. Raced in Moto3. First women to score points in Moto3, highest race finish of 8th. Couple of bad seasons (bikes/sponsorship) and left after a couple of accidents in 2015. Probably would have been a regular points scorer with the right bike.
