got to think Ferrari and Merc are both turned down. VER only 6 tenths down despite being on the harder Soft tyre to their SuperSofts.
You called it.Zoue wrote:got to think Ferrari and Merc are both turned down. VER only 6 tenths down despite being on the harder Soft tyre to their SuperSofts.
Ocon's 341 km/h am sure came in a tow as he was starting his hot lap!Zoue wrote:So the speed traps so far are FI - by quite a way - followed by Mercedes and then Ferrari. Which is a bit of a surprise
Apparently it's allowed as long as you keep 2 wheels on the track.pokerman wrote:It's just shown that Vettel exceeded track limits at parabolica yet again on his fastest lap.
I thought you only needed one?!F1_Ernie wrote:Apparently it's allowed as long as you keep 2 wheels on the track.pokerman wrote:It's just shown that Vettel exceeded track limits at parabolica yet again on his fastest lap.
One, well that's taking the p***. Whats the point in track limits.Zoue wrote:I thought you only needed one?!F1_Ernie wrote:Apparently it's allowed as long as you keep 2 wheels on the track.pokerman wrote:It's just shown that Vettel exceeded track limits at parabolica yet again on his fastest lap.
I thought that's always been the rule, though. Am I wrong?F1_Ernie wrote:One, well that's taking the p***. I read that is was 2 for that particular corner, I don't actually know the rule. My opinion is just stick gravel everywhere and that will stop anyone taking advantage.Zoue wrote:I thought that's always been the rule, though. Ericsson will get a 10 place grid penalty for putting on a new engine. Ricciardo & Hulk will start from the back with their penalties.Fiki wrote:Have Sauber made a statement yet about what turned their car left when the DRS failed to close?
I’d think that the brake balance would be completely off with the DRS open. Any time there’s too much forward bias in the brakes the back end will try try to overtake the the front it’s jus a matter of whether the steering wheel is turned a little one way or the other that determines which side it spins to.Fiki wrote:Have Sauber made a statement yet about what turned their car left when the DRS failed to close?
They need a curb sausage curb or something there. It's ridiculous the amount of drivers we've seen driving clean off the circuit and not losing time because they can just keep their foot in.F1_Ernie wrote:One, well that's taking the p***. Hamilton is 17 points clear, the difference between 1st and 3rd is 10 pointsZoue wrote:If Ferrari get a 1-2 here (assuming it's the "right" 1-2!), then they'll take the lead in both Championships. That would be a bit of a fairy tale at their home Grand Prix.!
Something tells me Hamilton may spoil that party, though...
sorry you're correct. Somehow I got it into my head he was 7 points clearJohnson wrote:Hamilton is 17 points clear, the difference between 1st and 3rd is 10 pointsZoue wrote:If Ferrari get a 1-2 here (assuming it's the "right" 1-2!), then they'll take the lead in both Championships. My first thought was also brakes, or perhaps brake balance. The DRS only closes when the brakes are already being operated, and the airflow still needs to re-attach to provide the 'normal' aerodynamic balance. So I was surprised all reports only mentioned the DRS, which I find hard to believe caused the accident. At Monza, Ericsson should have been able to run straight on, causing little more than a styrofoam snowstorm.RaggedMan wrote:I’d think that the brake balance would be completely off with the DRS open. All the cars are running 2 wheels off the track, Vettel looked to be 4 wheels off the track.F1_Ernie wrote:Apparently it's allowed as long as you keep 2 wheels on the track.pokerman wrote:It's just shown that Vettel exceeded track limits at parabolica yet again on his fastest lap.

Yes and this worries me.UnlikeUday wrote:Yesterday Sauber team had DRS issues. Today Hulk's car also had a DRS issue. Even when he entered the pitlane, the DRS was open. Have a feeling this is not the last time we'll be seeing a DRS related issue at Monza.
Looked neck and neck in P3 in the dry, be interesting to see how the rain affects the pecking order. I assume neither Ferrari nor Mercedes will want to run too much wing given the race is supposed to be dry.F1_Ernie wrote:It's raining!
yep.. Saw that tooFiki wrote:Did I see Hamilton overrunning the white lines twice during his first timed lap in Q1? I think I did. Vettel, I believe also ran out at least once. This is getting ridiculous.
