The German TMW vote result is as follows:
It's taken eleven races and over half the season, but we've finally had our first draw! Both Force India drivers registered 15 votes and therefore share the TMW spoils.
Hamilton 8-3 Bottas (61/39)
Vettel 7-4 Raikkonen (58/42)
Ricciardo 5-6 Verstappen (53/47)
Perez 4-6 Ocon (50/50)
Stroll 7-4 Sirotkin (64/36)
Hulkenberg 7-4 Sainz (62/38)
Gasly 7-4 Hartley (65/35)
Magnussen 8-3 Grosjean (75/25)
Alonso 10-1 Vandoorne (92/8)
Ericsson 4-7 Leclerc (34/66)
- Hamilton extends his advantage over Bottas with his fourth successive TMW win and the sixth in the last seven races.
- Kimi makes it three TMW wins in four races and has reduced the deficit from 6-1 down to 7-4. Maybe Ferrari should keep his future up in the air...
- Max Verstappen claims his fifth TMW win in a row, which now represents the longest active winning streak. It also means he now leads Ricciardo (at least in terms of wins, if not votes) for the first time in 2018.
- Perez/Ocon, as mentioned, become the first TMW draw of 2018. It keeps their incredibly competitive score, well, incredibly competitive!
- This was a good race for the underperforming drivers from the midfield teams (and Williams). The first of those was Sirotkin, whose fourth TMW win of the season is also his fourth in the last six races. At least in the eyes of the TMW voters, he is now starting to swing the vote back towards himself after a rough start to 2018.
- As has been the case in 2018, the momentum continues to swing between the two Renault drivers. Hulkenberg opened the season with three TMW wins in a row, followed by two for Sainz, two for Hulk, two more for Sainz and now another two for Hulk.
- Like Sirotkin, it was TMW victory number four of the season for Brendon Hartley.
- Another driver who hasn't had a good 2018 is Romain Grosjean, but this was a better race for him with the Frenchman picking up TMW victory three in 2018.
- At McLaren... the trend of underperforming drivers picking up a TMW vote didn't continue. 10-1 to Alonso. Ouch.
- But that trend did continue at Sauber as Marcus Ericsson scores a first TMW vote since the third race of the season, putting an end to Charles Leclerc's streak of victories at seven races. It means Leclerc has to make do with tying the season high in that regard, something he and Alonso now share.
