I’d rather see him take it on merit.

I hope Bottas will recover reasonably like he did in Austria in the first lap. Both times he started behind Kimi this year, he got past him in the first corner and I think that happened several times last year too. I think it is very likely Bottas will have got him by lap 1. Vettel however like in Spain may be very difficult to pass. If Mercedes get things right with their strategy, they may be able to work something out that allows Bottas to jump Vettel.

Fastest strategies over a 52-lap race
THE QUICKEST
ONE-STOPPER: One stint on soft (16 to 19 laps) + one stint on medium to the flag

ALTERNATIVE
ONE-STOPPER: One stint on soft (13 to 16 laps) + one stint on hard to the flag

WITH HIGHER DEGRADATION ON SOFT
TWO-STOPPER: Two stints on soft (12 + 12 laps) + one stint on medium to the flag.

Both Williams starting in the pits according to Sky, rear wing changes on both cars. Rear end looked to be the reason both of them went for adventures in Quali, that car really is a dog.

Stroll & Sirotkin will start from the pitlane as the rear wings on both of their cars were changed to an older spec.

It seems like a lot of the pundits have forgotton how good Ferrari are off the line. And how much kinder they are on tyres in warmer conditions.

It will be incredibly difficult for Mercedes to beat Ferrari here.

Warm conditions suit Ferrari but I think Hamilton's advantage in the race runs should make him unassailable barring a dreadful start... I hope no further reliability problems for Mercedes...

Hamilton has one less set of new softs than Vettel. Might prove crucial if degradation gets high.

Did Kimi punt Lewis? Has to be a penalty doesn't it?

Why does it take so long for a replay of the start to be shown?

Oh wow I've been in the Silverstone crowd a couple of times over the last few years and I imagine that went down well.

Kimi looks on it now but that looked like it had to be a penalty for him. Be interesting to see the on board as Di Resta said he left Kimi no space.

Edit: on boards clearly show Hamilton left loads of room. Kimi just locked up, clear penalty IMO.

Kimi took Hamilton out, I'm not saying it was deliberate but that sure helps Vettel.

Don't get How Max is able to keep Kimi behind him all this time. Should have thought Kimi would breeze past with DRS

Penalty incoming for Kimi. Pretty sure. That was way too optimisic (and that's an euphemism)

I think he can beat the Red Bull's from here on pure pace and Kimi is likely to take a penalty so I agree, it's possible if his damage isn't too bad.

Hamilton has to get out the negative mindset, just get on with it.
