Hamilton benefitted with the VSC in Spain in 2017. It has worked against him now.

Incredible stroke of luck for Vettel, race is definitely on now.... Hamilton will be brewing in that car, expecting fireworks.

With the pace Lewis has had and Vettel has not... how have they gift wrapped the win to Seb?

What a farce, why are they allowed to pit under VSC?

I only caught the end of the replay - did Max overtake Fernando under the yellows or he was in front at the pit exit?

Why are Hamilton's engineer baffled by this? It's fairly simple.

Actually why do the commentators not seem to understand either. It's pretty simple. You lose less time for a pitstop because the guys you are racing at not on full racing speed.

In other news - The pitlane should be closed under VSC. God knows why they didn't make that change already.

In other, other news - Surely this is both Magnussen and Grosjean are Knackered for Bahrain as well?
Its a hole in the regs that I mentioned the other day I'll try and find it.

Okay, so Max let Alonso go but surely overtaking under (V)SC should be a penalty, not just a position swap?

pokerman wrote:Yep and that's why the VSC was such a good step forward however with that they should be stopping cars from pitting and gaining an advantage, the purer the race the better, it's supposed to be a 50/70 lap race.

You're kidding right? Seb was being left for dead by both Hamilton and his teammate. Now he has track position and fresher tires (fresh enough to make it to the end easily) on a track where overtaking is extremely difficult. This was an early birthday gift.

Mercedes screwed up here. Hamilton was given the wrong gap to maintain to Vettel prior to the VSC, IE, the gap he needed to keep in case of a VSC incident. He was told around 12.5s, but 11.5 was needed.

No.. I am not kidding. vettel has not had the pace of Lewis nor Kimi. I don't it as a sure thing for Seb at all. Hope it is though!

Did you not see the post I made before the race about pitting under the VSC so I'm consistent, I care about the integrity of the race whereas you just car about Ferrari winning.

This is some suspicious stuff. Both Haas drivers have a wheel that isn't properly attached back to back; stopping on track...There's a virtual SC that lasts just long enough for Vettel to jump into the lead and then switches to a normal safety car (if it were just a normal safety car from the beginning, Vettel wouldn't have taken the lead). Most perfect storm I've seen since Singapore 2008...

Don't mind me

Why would Haas ruin two races for both their drivers. If they wanted to bring out a VSC they would just stop the car.
