He would need Kimi to wait for him. There is no point in doing that as long as Bottas and Verstappen are still in front.

Didn't lose a huge amount of time driving two sectors with a puncture.

Bit of a silly reply from Merc 'negative' ...what if Bottas or Max retire :/

I could see Massa holding off Hamilton for a long time.

I don't understand. Are you saying Max isn't keeping his seat at Red Bull?
No, he's referring to Kyvat. Every single one of Verstappen's victories occurred after Kyvat got demoted.
Oh, I see. I get it. I heard Brundle saying that's when Verstappen's victories had come. Blah to superstition.

All Hamilton needs to do is pass a couple of more cars and it's over for 2017.

Bit disappointing that everyone's just jumped out of Vettel's way.

At least Massa covers the inside and makes Hamilton work for it.

Simple logic. As things stand now, Vettel has no chance to get into P2. An extraordinary event can change that, but that's a future reply, not the current one.

Stroll finishing 6th could see Massa lose to his team mate for the 9th straight year and bolster his record of most defeats to a team mate in F1 history.

Can you blame them? The rules dont apply to Vettel so all bets are off if you stand in his way.

Hamilton is P10. For Vettel to get P2 he needs a retirement of Verstappen or Bottas. That puts Hamilton into P9.

So Vettel needs both of the front two cars to retire to stay in the title race.

I think it's called keep Lewis calm and bend the truth and keep everything under control. Ham knows breakdowns can happen - everyone knows it. The engineer did a good job I'd say.

Hamilton is soon going to make even a Verstappen retirement a non issue. Vettel needs both Bottas and Verstappen to fall over now.

Even that won't help you'd think. Would put Hamilton into ninth meaning vettel would need the win. Needs Vestappen and Bottas to blow up.

Does that score enough points for Hamilton? I've heard conflicting answers on this.

Kimi 30 seconds behind Bottas. Vettel needs a rocket powered car.

2 For Hamilton + Vettel scoring 7 less than a race win == the magic 9.

Verstappen retirement puts Hamilton into P9 anyway. Vettel now needs to win or Hamilton to DNF.

OK, good to know. I'm glad to think that Vettel's rule breaking is not going to extend this championship past today.

Err if Ham has DNFs last two races and Vettel wins both same amount of points but more wins for Ham. Hope I got that right.
