Magnussen!
Alonso!
Ricciardo, Ocon, Stroll - all achieved fantastic results but seemed to be slower than their teammates ( in contrast to KM and FA)

great drives but incredible bad luck: Massa, Hamilton

disappointing:
Vettel! That was a very, very light penalty for deliberately ramming a competitor under SC!
Mercedes
Hülkenberg

Today's race was great and I really enjoyed it, but for theatre and drama rather than a sporting event. On that basis, Vettel added the most entertainment and drama, so he gets my vote.

Ricciardo clinches it for THAT overtake at Turn 1. Utterly brilliant.

Hamilton and Stroll were very good as well.

I'll give it to the race winner. Not just for keeping it clean but also for that sweet double overtake

Notable mentions: Stroll, Hamilton, Magnussen, Alonso, Massa and Verstappen

Simply for putting in a genuinely good-paced and consistent performance, having been slated for so many races - Lance Stroll.

The three standing on the podium. Ricciardo for winning the race although being severely outpaced by his teammate, Bottas for that charge through the field although it was his own doing, and Stroll for finishing on the podium despite being... well, Stroll. Like Dan he was being beaten by a teammate that had a mechanical DNF.

I dont think its the three on the podium... Ricciardo and Stroll got the podium somewhat gifted by pure luck
Bottas on the other hand, charged back to 2nd after being at one point a lap behind

I'm going with Ricciardo for that overtaking move on two cars at once, Bottas for his drive up through the field from the back (a little reluctantly considering the first lap incident, but he was great after that), and Alonso for managing to fight up well into the points for so long. Honorable mentions to Stroll and Massa.

Stroll was literally right behind that teammate, so I'm not sure you can say for sure he would have been beaten. As for Ricciardo, how do we know he was being 'severely' outpaced? Max was only a few tenths quicker in practice, RIC crashed in quali, and in the race there wasn't time to compare.

I gave it to RIC, STR and ALO. Alonso didn't make any mistakes and safely outpaced his teammate once again, whereas almost everyone else did at least one thing I considered to be boneheaded. I considered Bottas, since I think the Kimi incident was 50/50, but that's 50 too much for me.

Has to be RIC. Didn't do anything wrong all day, even overcome an early issue at the start of the race. Got there most mostly merit then luck.

Lance also drove well (I criticised him from the very beginning of this season). Unfortunately, I would say that he lucked into that position more so that Daniel did. The fact he is 18 and what he's gone through this season would make him a easy pick for DOD based on emotion and fairy tale.

Great job from both of them.

DOTD had to be Ricciardo. It was his work passing cars between safety car periods which got him to 3rd where he would inherit the lead.

The pass on Massa & Stroll in one braking manoeuvre was a particular example.

I think Stroll's performance looks particularly good because of his rookie status and his results earlier in the season. He did drive well.

I would have voted for Bottas for his drive through the field and taking 2nd on the line, but his big mistake on the first lap deserved a much worse result. He was only in contention for the top 10, let alone the podium due to the safety car rules.

Everybody giving it to the podium finishers, they were all out classed by their team mates today and all got lucky to beat them with each of their team mates having a failure that allowed them to beat them.

Having said that,I still give it to Stroll because he was close enough to Massa all weekend and even beat him in qually and did great keeping his head for the podium.

Ricciardo was very lucky too, 5 cars would have beat him today at least. Hamilton, Verstappen for sure who had car failures. Bottas and Raikkonen who had a collision/ ran over debris. Vetel without the penalty. Massa without his engine issue and were the Force Indias ahead of him when they collided? That is the entire top 8 wiped out.

A lot of those were self induced by driver errors, but Hamilton and Verstappen did nothing wrong and would have beaten him. Probably Massa too.

TBH I wasn't looking at any lap charts, outpaced was maybe bad wording but Verstappen was clearly ahead of Ricciardo who didn't (have time to) show any signs of being able to beat his teammate in the race. Fair point about Stroll. The Bottas mistake on lap 1 was probably one of the smaller mistakes of the race in context even though it had quite dramatic effects so that's why if I had to put the three in order this would be it:

1. Bottas
2. Stroll
3. Ricciardo

Difficult one, as (as others have pointed out), all those on the podium were there due to bad luck on the part of their team mates.

For the same reason, I eventually voted for Stroll - whilst realising its basically a sympathy vote for a badly slated rookie!

It is rather unfair to say Verstappen and Massa were better than their team mates when we didn't get to see all their race. Most of the race, we could see Massa was better and I do think that would have continued, but it didn't so I think it is perfectly fair to vote Stoll over Massa even though Massa probably will have done better. Verstappen and Ricciardo were just not comparable on race day. Ricciardo pitted almost instantly then soon after, Verstappen retired. Ricciardo did a brilliant job so is perfectly reasonable to vote over Verstappen for driver of the day. While Bottas made a mistake at the start, I think he couldn't have done much different to what he did and the kerb unfortunately made him jump and hit Kimi. His fault but sort of couldn't help what happened afterwards. He made a stunning recovery which to many made his drive look more impressive than Hamilton's. Which it did in a way. I expected their votes to be about equal, but overall, I don't think Hamilton did a better, more impressive drive than Bottas. I personally think his slow driving was completely unreasonable just after he had complained about the safety car that had actually bee going much faster then he chose to drive himself at this point. That is just silly. Why moan about the safety car affecting the temperature of his tyres and then choose to suddenly go far slower himself?

I feel Vandoorne has been hard done by, this race. He was ahead of Alonso, doing well, with a lesser performing PU, then basically McLaren screwed his race up. After that he was doing very well again, but the SC gave all of the ones that were ahead due to McLaren's excuse of a strategy free stops with regards to Vandoorne.

With something even remotely resembling a strategy, Vandoorne would have at least finished behind Alonso with a point.
Go Vandoorne :( - Verstappen - Vettel!

I would say he got a heavy dose of luck himself being gifted a lap back. Not to mention he also benefited from the same incidents as Ricciardo & Stroll

I'd say Stroll, because even though he benefited from others' misfortune how else is he going to get a podium? He doesn't have the car for it. But he kept his cool under pressure and scored a very decent podium (and was extremely unlucky not to get 2nd) after enduring a lot of bad press since the beginning of the year. A maiden podium under those circumstances muct be nerve-racking, so kudos to him
