This is beautiful, and feels so retro in a modern age

Love it!

Anything is a welcome break from the cookie-cutter panning shots with excessive blur along the edges and an almost-sharp driver helmet that the sports photographers of today seem so obsessed with. Whereas those shots seem slick and artificial, these antique photos seem so romantic and real. Very nice!

You can see why the old school photos are so evocative and ethereal even moreso now you can see modern F1 shot in the same way. Sometimes the old ways really are the best.

Really interesting! Definitely gives a very different feel from the typical photography of today's races.

I love the shot of the Williams heading into Portier.

No. 10 looks really clear to me. The quality of the others are mixed though yes. There is something about these old cameras that modern equipment just doesn't seem to be able to capture even if you heavily adapt them afterwards. I can somehow appreciate old pictures more if they look as bad as they did then. As in being blurred and grainy :] Which isn't always a bad thing. Especially if it is on photo paper. These sorts of pictures usually look much worse on screens.

They create a feeling which is hard to explain. I think its nostalgia even though they are modern subjects.
Interesting.
