I'm eagerly awaiting his single "Maybe it's 'cause I'm Black", should be a chart topper.

It actually sounds ok, I expected to ridicule it.

But if I had 50 million in the bank to pay sessions musicians, the best producers and equipment and a guy auto tuning the hell out of me I could probably make something that sounded totally professional.

Its not exceptional but a long way from laughable.

I always wonder with Lewis how long a career he will have. He seems so excited by life outside formula 1. I could easily see him retiring in the next 3/4 years.

To be fair, most of what I hear of the charts sounds way worse than that (bear in mind I pay zero attention to the charts, and only briefly hear parts when I'm in shops etc). Not my thing at all, but actually pretty good for what it is.

It's refreshing to see F1 drivers exploring other avenues, and whilst those segments scream auto tune, it doesn't sound all that bad.

Good luck to him. Maybe a collaboration with Nicole in the not-too-distant future?

It’s not my cup of tea, but with a bit more polishing and technical finishing, perhaps it will sound more "professional". Don’t know why, but i expected far worse!

I agree with some of the above comments. It’s hard to envisage Lewis being in F1 for more than a couple years from now. His outside interests seem to be gathering momentum. His current contract ends in 2018 and Lewis has already stated that he wishes to retire at Mercedes. He has achieved all his goals in F1---the main one being emulating Senna’s tally of 3 WDCs. Love him, like him, dislike him, whatever, F1 will be a “duller” world without this driver (in my opinion). He has got to be one of the most talked about drivers in the history of F1? What/who will we all moan , discuss and bitch about when driver 44 has finally departed? I suppose, no doubt, something or someone else will step into the breach. Not for one moment am i saying F1 revolves around this guy and it certainly would survive without him, but his controversiality and his refusal to conform has certainly given us all plenty to talk about over the years!

Good luck to him. :)

Could this be his first release, a cover of-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDIaDS9HhMw

Though to be honest it would have to be done in collaboration with his team mate, Mark Webber, Christian Horner, Fernando Alonso to name but a few!

Maybe he didn't have a slump?

All we know is that Nico was faster in the last 6 qualifying sessions. Nico was faster the previous year in qualifying too.

Maybe not on the vocals, but he'll be great in the music video :D

That's how I feel, and I reckon that's the fault of one person and one person only: Jacques Villeneuve.

Man! Good that he doesn't suck at driving as much as he sucks in music! Aweful, facet voice, terrible music, horrendous style.

I don't think this is distracting him. You cannot work 24/7. Either way I doubt we would ever heard of his music if he wasn't already famous. On the other hand it's hard to judge from 1 short sample, maybe other songs are better.

Oh no no no no no….

I thought it was ok until I heard him do that horrible Kanye West thing of pronouncing ‘die’ as ‘da’

Lewis, if you’re reading DON’T DO THAT!!!!

Well he has the money so he can do that even if the end result is not what the people expect.

I never realised that so many forumers cared so much about their hip-hop and R&B.

Wow that is awful.

But its not my kinda music, there is a massive market for this - maybe R&B fans will like it?

This comment got me intrigued. I'd never had the "pleasure" of previously hearing any of JV's music. Just had a quick listen on YouTube. I kind of wish i hadn't. In my opinion, rather bland and decidedly underwhelming! Each to their own i suppose..... :)

It's not uncommon for pop stars to make a bob or two and take to the track so no surprise that someone looks in the opposite direction. Sadly, it sounds like his music will be more like the racing career of Andrew Ridgeley (Wham, failed miserably) than Nick Mason (Pink Floyd, still hooning around in a £20M Ferrari GTO).

I really wish he'd concentrate on nothing but the racing and indulge in peripheral stuff once the game is over. Not distracted he's invincible, but he should have learned by now not to let it slip. A bit of a loss of focus spoils the end of a WDC year. A full on distraction gives us 2009.
