SehnKhan wrote:No worries, I actually sat in the front row of Turn 1 Grandstand Block A5 Seat 17 last year - only downside is that there is a pillar to your left that obscures the view of the cars coming from the left (but at speed you only miss less than 0.5seconds of action) - that said, your view of the cars through Turns 1-3 is very good here, plus the view of the pit exit. If you're a little further back off the front row of seats I'd imagine the view would be a little better. Plus you'll have a super screen opposite, and English commentary is played throughout the event.

I'll try and find some pictures of the view from these seats for you when I get home and post them up so you can see what I'm talking about.

From here though, access to food and merchandise is easy. You'll need to cross the track via the bridge to get to the infield, but it's only 10 minute walk to the Singapore Flyer from there.

The humidity is fine - you'd be surprised how quickly you adjust.

Forgot to mention - the GP2 Asia series will be there this year. Also, head to the Official Singapore GP site and register your transaction number for a wristband for Katy Perry if you're into that sort of music, as spots will be limited. You can also register your transaction number for various other competitions including autograph sessions.
Pics from your stand would be great, I'm in row six of A5 so my view would be similar. Since I booked the tickets I've read a few forums where people said that the turn 2 stand (looking up the straight) is the best so I'm kind of wishing I'd gone for those tickets!

My girlfriend has already registered for the Katy Perry wristbands, she got on that straight away!

Usually when I go to the Aus GP, I sit in my seat for FP1, Quali and the Race and then I like to walk the track for FP2 and FP3 to try to see the cars at each corner. How easy is it to get around the track to see the different GA viewing areas? I'm thinking of trying to get around Zone 4 during FP2 and then around Zone 1 for FP3.

There is a really good b+b in daventy (about 15 mins in a car from the track) she charged me and my brother 100 for the weekend and it makes a premier inn look like a little grott box. I cant remember the name of it but if you google b+b daventry itl come up thats how we found it, not goin this year so its all yours will want it back next year tho!!

Location: Silverstone
Seats: Gold Village A - 3 day.
General experience: Silverstone has really transformed itself over the last few years....it is total dream for spectators, with plenty of viewing areas, even when it is crowded....the added bonus is that you can walk around the old Bridge corner....rather emotive if, as me, you watched many a racing car blast through there over the years.
Atmosphere: ONe of the best I have been to - been to quite a few races over the years....the crowd is not about a british driver (although they do like them) they will cheer a great performance....Alonso last year got a huge positive reaction when he won...you will ove it!!

I am going again this year....(and to Italy and Spa as well)...have a look at my site (http://www.pumaknight.co.uk/Blog/?p=107) for a few photos from last year....happy to offer advice to anyone if they want...

Enjoy :)

Hi

Me and a few of my friends are Formula 1 fans and we happen to be in Barcelona on a stag do on the weekend of the next GP. We are considering trying to get tickets for the Grand Prix but we won't know our plans till we are out there.

Would it be to late to try and purchase tickets for the GP just two days before the race?

Does anybody know where we could try and purchase tickets in Barcelona for the race?

I have a few more questions to ask aswell if anybody could help me.

Thanks

Marvin

It won't be a sell out - there could be places around central Barcelona, there's a shop on Las Ramblas where you can buy Barca tickets - they may sell GP tickets. You will be able to get them from the circuit for sure. That's what I did for the testing.

We will be landing in Heathrow airport and will be staying in a B&B in daventry. Any ideas how to get from the airport to daventry and how to get from daventry to/from the circuit as cheap as possible?

Hi,

I have just joined this forum even though I have visited Planet F1 around 5 times a day ever since it started! 8O

For the first time I am going to Hungary this year and will be arriving on the Thursday before the race, we are currently still looking for an Apartment/Villa to rent as My Wife & 3 Children are all coming along for the ride :D I am hoping to find someone that has visited the Hungaroring before and can give me some tips on what are to stay, where to buy tickets (most places dont offer Child discounts but some do!) and any other general advice would be greatly received!

Many Thanks In Advance...

I've just bought tickets to my first ever GP!! :D :D :D :D

It's a 3-day ticket at Abbey - pretty much a last minute thing but I had to make sure I'll be watching the start so I paid a little more than I planned :D

I actually went to Silverstone last July - but for a driving day (missed the GP by a week) so have never ever experienced the atmosphere. I simply cannot wait.

I'd love to read anybody's opinions/feedback on the weekend itself and the grandstand in particular (what is the view like, etc - and any links to pics if possible)

I've been watching F1 since 1992. It's taken me 20 years, but I'm finally going!!

See you there :)

Hi guys,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm attending the Spanish GP in a couple of weeks and am going on my own. Was wondering if there will be any PF1'ers out there who would be up for a drink and chat in the evenings.

Would be good to hear from some of you.

Cheers,

Here's a good one, The Canadian GP is $315 Canadian and $280 US. The Canadian dollar is worth more than the US. Is Bernie using this extra money as a rainy day fund to get a breast enlargement for his new fiancee?

Spanish Grand Prix 2012

Hey there I'm going to the Spanish Grand Prix and I was just wondering on what the best way and cheapest way to get there and back using any modes of transport. I am staying around the Sagrada Familia in the city. Also I have a General Admission ticket so any tips for good vantage points would be most welcome as I have not been to this circuit before.

Manys thanks if any one can help! :)

The main train station has trains to near the circuit and then either walk, bus or taxi from there to the circuit.

The main station is called Sants Estacio from memory (been to Barca too many times). You can get the metro from Sangrada Famillia to Sants Estacio - you may need to change, can't remember that. Doesn't take too long anyway.

Make sure you check out Becketts as not only do you get to see what an F1 car can really do but you also get to see the cars twice per lap as they navigate the village section right behind Becketts. Seeing the cars twice was the main reason i bought a ticket there for the race. Also Club (last 3 corners) is a nice watch. Watching the cars there in the wet last year was a real highlight. So yeah, Becketts and Club are a must. Enjoy the race!

Ideally nicole kidman or similar invites you into her bedroom overlooking the race track.
It's not that expensive, easily doable.

Stay in Nice, get a train to Monaco each day.

Which is exactly what I'm doing, to give you an idea we have an 8 person villa for a week for £1000 which isn't bad at all per person, flights from Liverpool were £185 booked last September and you can get a tickets at a variety of different prices. Not cheap but it's not outrageously expensive either.

CANADIAN GRAND PRIX 2012 TICKET SWAP !!

Hi there everyone,

Just thought I would try again !!

Got my ticket for Canada this year and cannot wait!! I opted for Grandstand 24 in the end. Anyway, I’ve been to a number of GP’s and some, including the British, allow roaming grandstands on Friday/Saturday which is brilliant to get other views of the track. I don’t think the Canadian GP offers this. If anyone is interested would they like to swap Friday/Saturday tickets for different stands. I’m quite keen to get an aspect from stand 1, 2 or 12 on either of these days if anyone wants a day at the hairpin. If anyone is interested please email me at captainfurious@inbox.com. I’m coming on my own so can only do single ticket swaps!

Anyone else going lets hope its as good as last year!!

Rich

The way things are going in this pathetic city (yes I live in this dump)I wouldn't be surprised if the so-called striking students(french bums) plan a major disruption for the race ,remember there's basically only one way to get to the track and that's by metro , unfortunately these hoods have already caused major slowdowns on the system in the past...don't say you weren't warned

Hey guys.

For the Canadian grand Prix, the cheapest grandstand tickets are twice as expensive as the general admission ones. Is it worth it to buy a grandstand ticket or will you see well enough with GA. Also I probably won't be the first one to come into the track at 6:30AM so would I get any good spots at all if a come in a few hours later?

oh how i would love to attend a race this year.. my only gp was.. yes.. indy 2005. i met up with some friends from the UK, the owners of what was then gokimi.com, and a couple of other forum members at the time from ireland. i had a blast.. but i was demoralized when the michelin runners parked it. if not for the amazing company i would have been utterly destroyed. i would try for the austin gp, but i just don't trust it to book the hotel and take the time off of work after having been screwed royally in 2005. my goal is to go to canada next year. i've been longing for that and i'd better do it before bernie nixes it for a race in iraq or alaska or some stupid fairy cakes like that.

G'day lads/ladies, I'm heading over to Monza later in the year and would love any advice you have. Need some advice in particular on the following:

-is Milan the best place to stay for the weekend? Are there any other towns that are easy to access the track from?Is the area near the airport in Milan crap? Would it be better to stay in the city centre of Milan?

-Any advice on the cheapest way to book a hotel apart from wotif.com?

-what are the disadvantages to a general admission ticket? is it hard to get a good spot to see the action from?

-is it worth going on the Saturday? I find support races boring. What kind of cool things are there to do/see around the track on the weekend? Was thinking about just spending the day there on Sunday

Any other tips at all appreciated also!

I've been in Monza for several times. Best places (in my opinion) are:
Ascari chicane
Variante della Roggia

If you buy a general admission ticket, you can watch the race and qualy at variante della roggia. Great place, and you have a TV screen in front of you.

FP in 2010:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYWHpd-Vv5Q

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_k9Sn9Un8E

Great sound near the small tunnel:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJuEqF_rfRw

You should also watch a practice at the Lesmo corners. Lesmo 2 is awesome as well.
This was last year:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gu8OjjWI ... ature=plcp

I can advice you to fly to Bergamo airport (all the cheap airlines fly there), and stay in the centre of Milan.
The best hotel is the Best Western, which is walking distance from the best pub/discotheque where all the fashion models are in their habitat naturalis :))

http://www.ilgattopardocafe.com/

It is inside a cathedral. Live DJ, however not cheap.

good stuff, thanks for posting all this info. Im planning going with a mate to Monza next year and am just starting to save up and look into it now.
Is the best plan just to book everything separate? ie flights (from scotland) hotels, transfers & tickets? Or are there good package deals available? How much is a general admission pass? Whats the options on getting a better view or access to 'better' areas. Are we talking serious cash? how easy is it to travel back to Milan after or is it a good idea to stay at the circuit for a while after the race? too many questions!!

Hello mate, I went to the Hungarian GP last season. We got our tickets, 3 day passes from a local agent in Prague so thats probably no help to you but we booked a camping plot for a tent on the Hungaroring website and camped out the back of the car. It had electric connection, communal portaloos and showers if you can bear that, just outside the main entrance.

We wanted to get the most out of it and the traffic to get in everyday was madness gridlocked we were told, so if we go again we will camp again rather then drive in daily. You will need both summer stuff like shorts, suntan lotion and wet weather gear and warm clothes as we got soaked and baked in equal measure, the campsite was a swamp.

I can dig out ticket prices and campsite prices if you want, we sat in the gold area right on the start/finish line.

A couple of friends and I want to go to one of the remaining European GPs. We're not really fussed which one but we've all been to Monza and live in the UK, so if I put Monza and Silverstone aside, can anyone recommend a GP for 3 twenty-somethings?

We basically want to go somewhere cheap (flights, hire-car if necessary, etc), with a nearby town or city with decent nightlife and stuff for young people to do.

Any advice or recommendations much appreciated.

Just on the train between Toronto and Montreal. There's quite a few people here who I think are F1 fans too.

I have no idea what to expect, other than Crescent Street is the place to be in the evenings. It's parties all round apparently - starts tonight too.
