I know, It's completely insane that it took so long before proper spectator control and area's were brought in! I get very annoyed today when health and safety go over the top, but that was crazy!

Well apparently the police had it covered? that was just crazy to watch. Imagine being in the driving seat and seeing the crowd parting like that.

I know it was the original name. But we have no need for the original name anymore as the scope of this thread has changed. As it is now an official sticky the name should reflect that.

I agree! The original title has no bearing any more on the topic, Upcoming TV F1 Shows.

Porsche Supercup round 1 & 2 currently on TV narrated by Ben Edwards! Must be an FIA thing that Sky have bollowed, like the F1 season reviews. Still surprised Edwards has done it and sky has picked it up, rival commentary teams and all that.

I see me getting very, very little done on Sunday. Probably have it on background all day, can't see me being able to watch 13 or so hours of Monaco GP, even with my love for the sport.

I am trying to remember. Which ones stand out as must re-watch. I'll watch 82 and 83.

IIRC
07 was dull.
08 was wet and fairly eventful with The Iceman ramming The Fighter out of the way.
09 was pretty uneventful with the Button winning from pole and had to run to the podium down the start/finish straight because he parked his car in the wrong place.
10 Schumi cheated (at Monaco? Schumi? Nooooo!) and Webber won - from pole.
11 was actually quite fun until the red flag and the F1 rules robbed us of a grandstand finish between Button, Alonso and Vettel.

Yeah - there's better Monaco GPs to offer full re-runs of.

I'd like to see a TV series on Formula 1 similar to the NFL's "Hard Knocks" series.
Hard Knocks basically follows a different NFL franchise behind the scenes as a 'fly on the wall' going through an NFL season.

Here is a YouTube example, just jump between different seconds to get a broader understanding of the show.

I love rant at 6min 50sec!
"It's about leading the League in f**king wins, on defence isn't it"

That hasn't been done for a while. McLaren allowed a BBC documentary crew to follow them for the '93 season. It's called The Team: A year with McLaren I'm sue it's on YOUTUBE. But other that that there have only been one-off documentaries, most of which are very good. I watched an old Channel 4 documentary last night about Williams F1 in '88 and it was very interesting to hear candid opinions about Frank Williams. Apparently he was considered a bit of a joke in the early part of his career and was known as nincompooper Williams. :o

Sounds like something to watch, thanks mate :)
Still, I really wish we could get something along those lines in F1. Doubt it will ever happen though.

I guess they needed to make it more easy if the contestants they picked struggled with basic grammer

Well I have to put my hand up and say I was dead against F1 going to sky, but half way through the first season I now admit it was the best thing that ever happened to F1.

There is much more for us regulars, and also I am now getting conversations on F1 with people who previously had on interest in 'cars going round and round'.

I admit I was wrong, well done sky and BE.

A series called "Brits who made the modern world" is starting on Sky UK - Military channel at 02:00am 26th July 2012.
It shows how Colin Chapman started and finally won the F1 championship in 1963.

May be repeated in the future.

The programme was early 2000's but it explains a lot of stuff quite in depth about F1 development through the years and goes in to aero quite deeply at times. Worth a watch if it comes back on, found it very interesting.
