They are all like F1 cars underneath - the big difference in Toyota is their commitment to aero development in a very F1-like manner. Will see the same from Audi this year for sure, no matter how badly they want to make mechanical engineering work because its their "thing".

Some drivers have been added to the entry since that was posted. Hartley in the second Starworks car for example. I might actually give in and watch.

Best thing to do is watch the start and the end, everything in-between and before the race and after too.

This years "Garage 56" entry is a hydrogen/hybrid electric that looks like it was drawn up by a 5th grader.
http://green-gt.com/en/greengt-h2.php
I won't rag on it's looks too much because I love the Delta, and plenty of people had bad things to say about it last year. I just hope they put a little more protection around the hydrogen tanks for the race.

I hope Nakajima doesn't sideswipe it like he did last year to the Delta 8O

Not long now.... Anthony Davidson, Alan McNish, Ryan Dalziel, Dario Franchitti, Justin Wilson, Oliver Gavin & Richard Westbrook.
Plenty of bullets in the clip for the UK, but who can get the win?

Less than an hour into the race and already too many major failures. Oh Grand-Am, you're still a bit of a joke.

What a fantastic end to race in the 6 hours of silverstone Mcnish chasing down his teammate in the last 30 min and overtaking him with only 5-6 min left what a race

Weirdly his mistake into maggots and Beckett which ruined his tyre's paid off for him because using his fresh tyres he was chasing his teammate down by 2 seconds a lap and overtook him into brooklands

What a great recovery from Mcnish

I really need to start watching endurance racing, seems like a great series with the different classes.
A quick question for UK viewers, are the races shown on TV? I know I have watched a bit of le man 24h last year but can't remember the channel but do other races get shown on TV as well? Or is it just via the free web stream that the FIA have?

Great season opener; rain-madness at mid race was epic.
Also Bruno Senna and Kamui Kobayashi did a fantastic work, considering it was their first race in the Wec.
Loved the podium, two of my favourite drivers back on top.

I think they missed an opportunity at Silverstone to keep the ELMS alive by combining it with the WEC into one big race.
23 entries from ELMS - result... http://www.dailysportscar.com/Uploads/E ... e_Race.pdf
+31 entries from WEC - result... http://www.dailysportscar.com/Uploads/W ... e_Race.pdf

It could have been an epic race with over 50 cars, a proper tourist trophy, in the end nobody really turned up to watch. :(

This thread hasn't been seen in a while.

Anyway, so we have this story about Juan Pablo Montoya supposedly wanting to give Le Mans a shot to clinch the Triple Crown. And talks began with Porsche about a possible test.
http://www.thecheckeredflag.co.uk/2015/ ... r-montoya/

With Nico Hulkenberg now provisionally ruled out of Le Mans 2016, what do we think the chances are of us seeing JPM get that Porsche seat?

I'd like to see it. Doesn't seem to me that he's lost his touch behind the wheel and in a team effort any lack of experience in LeMans specific racing won't be a big issue. And it's not like he's lacking in endurance racing experience overall having done the Daytona 24 several times.

So, Bernie has arranged for the European GP to clash with Le Mans.

Um, now I wonder if that has anything to do with a certain F1 driver doing rather well at Le Mans this year!

I'm sure it was completely accidental. Scheduling Baku 7 days after Canada? That could only be an honest mistake, no one would intentionally be that silly

Thought I'd resurrect this thread, although I accept it might vanish again. Anyway......

I'm beyound excited for the future of the WEC. 4 of these beasts being entered. If other top brands enter as they said they would, this racing should look and sound phenomenal. Just hope and pray Ferrari join in the fun.

I will probably lose some interest in endurance racing when the "prototypes" disappear. I don't doubt the racing will be fine, but to me one of its main attractions will be gone.

Anyway, last Saturday at a Meet & Greet, Stoffel Vandoorne signed three pictures I took at the WEC race at Francorchamps earlier this year. He experienced four seasons in the first hour of his stint, and mightily impressed. I hope he gets another shot at F1, but this time with a team that knows it's got 2 drivers.
