Possibly, but don't misjudge the times set today. On his last flyer Hamilton was purple in S1, about two tenths quicker than Vettel, but he had to abort the lap.

That Mercedes certainly had way more speed.

Hardly a shocker that Lewis was better than Nico in the wet. The biggest threat to Hamilton tomorrow (wet race very likely) will be from a resurgent Vettel and Ferrari. Vettel was very Schumiesque today, fabulous performance.

It's still pretty impressive that Nico can be coached to be faster than Hamilton! That is some serious adaptive driving. His lack of feel is holding him back.

I think the whole telemetry issue gets widely overplayed. Drivers share telemetry all the time, it's nothing major. However the ban on driver coaching on the radio seems to have hurt him. It got banned after Singapore and he couldn't get close to Hamilton for the rest of the year.

Usually, you'd expect Hamilton to drag Nico through the mud after that regardless of whether he got pole! Hamilton claims he doesn't remember. Perhaps a sign of maturity eh Zoue?

Definitely and Hamilton has chosen not to throw him under the bus unlike last season and obviously not wanting in general to disadvantage the team

There's a jump from stating the obvious and being upset about it. No one hear is crying that Nico hasn't been penalised for it... in fact if he really has resorted to having to follow Hamilton to copy the lines he takes then Hamilton will sleep easy tonight, because the mental battle will have been won.
