How bad is it now? Looks OK to me for full wets?

Always looks better than it is on TV though.

Yes because they don't run Monsoon wets anymore

Does anyone know the last time cars raced or quali'd on 'wets'?

If they were out they would be on inters now.

The fact that the cars aren't running at the moment is ridiculous. Forget full wets; it looks to be reaching inter conditions. :-|

They put the race forward to avoid this kind of weather, why not the qualifying, it's not like it's rocket science?

I officially hope the rain will start at 18:14 local time just to annoy the FIA (and possibly teach them something, but they've been refusing to learn for a few years of evening Malaysia now).

According to the official F1 app there's another rookie debuting today:

This is a joke. Every time there is a bit of rain anywhere they wait until the track is dry to go back out.

Yep. I've seen lots of quali sessions where a driver who'd normally be at the front will barely scrape through to Q1 or Q2 and then end up on pole - which is fine the way the current rules stand and I just thought it might be a way to make the performance in Q1 and/or Q2 count more towards the overall grid positions while still retaining the element of the three-session shoot-out.
I think we all would like the grids to be a bit more messed up for the sake of a better race spectacle and this might be a way to achieve it when the conditions conspire to change the order.

They should never start during evening just because more people can watch. I really hope there is no thunder storm tomorrow

Williams went out a bit too early. Their tyres will be cold by the time they get going.

But you won't change what the weather does or mistakes that the team or drivers make. Kimi still stuffed up today and it was clear that getting out near the front of the queue was the right thing to do.
