2015 Malaysian Grand Prix Qualifying Thread
10 minutes into qualifying and no thread. We're slacking... I had to triple check one hadn't been started.
Vettel's time seems crazy quick if those tyres are supposed to be over a second slower, yet the BBC commentators seem to have missed that.

Yeah, this could end up being a lot closer than expected. And those clouds look very threatening too.Alienturnedhuman wrote:

Honda engine still sounding rough on initial power application. But it is sounding bit better.

Re: 2015 Malaysian Grand Prix Qualifying Thread
I just love this GP. The track layout is awesome and challenging, the stands are awesome, the ever looming thunderclouds, the hot temperatures and humidity.
Give me this over most European GP's any day. Yeah, I know, unpopular opinion...

Oh Kimi you fool

Re: 2015 Malaysian Grand Prix Qualifying Thread
And that is it for q2

What did he do wrong? Got stuck in a really bad position, like Hamilton et al - the difference being that he didn't make it. Doesn't make me less angry, of course.Zoue wrote:Oh Kimi you fool

Wow, that was the most exciting qualifying session I've ever seen. One high-stake lap! Overtaking, and argy-bargy.

Re: 2015 Malaysian Grand Prix Qualifying Thread
If others could do a fast lap, then with his experience he should have been able to, too. Lewis was right behind him coming out of the pits. How come he managed to do it but Kimi couldn't?Water wrote:What did he do wrong? Got stuck in a really bad position, like Hamilton et al - the difference being that he didn't make it. I like Kimi, but he's so prone to qualifying mistakes it's not even funny.
Re: 2015 Malaysian Grand Prix Qualifying Thread
Does Kimi also have a 10 place GI penalty for tunsafe release in Australia?

Surely because Hamilton in the fastest car on the grid and Kimi isn't? No. Stewards decided there was no further action necessary.Corskey wrote:Does Kimi also have a 10 place GI penalty for tunsafe release in Australia?

This chat Crofty and Brundle are having...sounds like they don't believe Alonso's version of his crash.

It also looked like he got compramised in the final corner by the Sauber being very close ahead, which prevented him getting the power down as early as he would have wanted. Hence Hamilton got past him on the line.

I don't think many people do after Button saying he couldn't tell certain things.JohnnyGuitar wrote:This chat Crofty and Brundle are having...sounds like they don't believe Alonso's version of his crash.
Re: 2015 Malaysian Grand Prix Qualifying Thread
The times weren't particularly fast, so the only excuse would be traffic, really. The cars have shown they can go faster after all. But since Lewis was right behind him, then it's clear that Lewis managed the traffic spacing better than Kimi did. The team should also look at why they could get Vettel out in P1 and couldn't get Kimi out in P2, but once out there Kimi should have made the best of it. And he didn't. Re: 2015 Malaysian Grand Prix Qualifying Thread
I couldn't help but laugh at Brundle's (?) comment towards the end of Q1 - something along the lines of 'there's a good fight going on at the back of the field with Alonso fighting to stay off the bottom'!

Re: 2015 Malaysian Grand Prix Qualifying Thread
Should be any benefit be given to drivers in each Q session to carry forward to the next one? Seems like it doesn't shake things up enough if one driver heads the time sheets in Q1 or Q2 and then everything just gets reset for Q3.
Re: 2015 Malaysian Grand Prix Qualifying Thread
He got too close to Ericsson which in turn then messed up Hamilton's lapWater wrote:What did he do wrong? Got stuck in a really bad position, like Hamilton et al - the difference being that he didn't make it. Doesn't make me less angry, of course.Zoue wrote:Oh Kimi you fool
