Your right it does. I looked on the F1 app which says 9 hours, which looks more corrected. So yeah, weird error on the website

Yes 9 hours from now is 01:00 on Friday 13th March GMT, 12:00 local time, which I belive is the correct time. No idea why the website is wrong.

Yes indeed...But to be expected given the gremlins we usually get in the season opener on live timing.

The all new Formula 1 website is still being flashed there. With the practice a few hours away, wonder what the website developers are doing?

Luckily, got a message to upgrade my F1 app.

The website hasn't been so weird earlier? No timings mentioned about the practice, qualifying or race!

Just a Rolex clock in the display, showing the current time of Melbourne.

No way, the website looks like the official website of F1, unless it's imitating Force India's late strategy.

Scratch that I'm wrong. Looks like both the app and the website are wrong. I looked again in a few other places and they list FP1 as 13:30 local time, which would make it 01:30 GMT. Geez, no wonder people are confused.

F1.com website counter time thing

Post by f1madman »

Its rubbish now! PReviously it used to be on the home page and you can change the times to your local time.

Are there any websites that do that out there?

^ Agree

I just went in to check FP start time and I had to skip through a number of pages till I got to the event schedule, and it was only in local time.. Before you could see that info in seconds.. Open site, look and out.

What's worse is that it seems we will now have to pay from April on to access info. I don't know exactly what info as I could not stand navigating through such a s***y site!! It almost made the new PF1 site look good!

What's next? Removing live timing from their website?

Oh, never mind.

edit: It's not that bad actually. Scroll down to the AUS flag and click the red text to convert to your local time.

They also have a proper video section now: http://www.formula1.com/content/fom-web ... video.html

The point is it doesn't do the conversion though, just gives your time and venue time.

Worst website I've visited in a long time. Cumbersome and takes ages to load, difficult even to scroll with my connection...how big are those bloody images!? 10MB?

Click on the your local time text, it then changes all the times to your local time.

From what I understood from the Crofty-narrated video about F1 access it means you pay 20 quid for the iOS/Android app + Desktop live timing (not sure about that) + Race edits/on-board laps.

Can someone who has bought the app, more specifically the season pass for 2015, confirm?

I being generous enough, have purchased the F1 access for my desktop as well as my mobile as I can't live without live timing

$26.99 for the desktop live access. 1 discrepancy in this is that I can't make out which driver is in the pits & which is not. Earlier the car number next to the driver would be marked in Red but this new design doesn't give any reference.

The mobile version is also facing some discrepancies. Even though it shows I've made the annual purchase, I can't hear the commentary nor can I access other features such as tyre usage, sector times etc. When a driver enters or exits the pits, his name turns Red. Initially, when I saw this for the first time, I thought the driver had crashed his car.

I hope all this gets sorted out soon. Would suggest others to be a little patient with this or just take some more time to decide if you want to buy.

Frankly, I loved the previous layouts of both the desktop & mobile timing screens.
