Re: Should Red Bull leave, where do the drivers go.

You seem to be repeating what I already said, what I was questioning is when you said that if Red Bull pulled out of F1 they could stop their contracted drivers from driving for other F1 teams. i think that has been discussed at the very beginning of this thread... the contract would need to have a...

Re: Could the time be right for a contending series?

it all is just a thinking exercise after all... i really have no indication or reason to believe that mateschitz or red bull are thinking about such a series, but if they were, i think f1 is now very vulnerable on many different levels. much more than it was when the last pirate series was talked a...

Re: Could the time be right for a contending series?

Why exactly would a contending series not be allowed to race around circuits like Spa? As far as I'm aware, F1 does not own these circuits. It was said last time a breakaway series looked likely that any track hosting them would not have another GP. they threatened to take the FIA status away from ...

Re: Could the time be right for a contending series?

Just thought of a down side to this. After the way Red Bull has behaved in F1, would anyone be stupi.. err, willing to enter a series where they make and enforce the rules? considering how the current governing body has set up and enforced the rules (promising cost caps and lower costs for a decade...

Re: Should Red Bull leave, where do the drivers go.

fair enough... just a quick update on the bold section: ferrari an mercedes have told the FIA that 8 million for 1-year old engines is not enough and they can and will not supply them for that money. the fia wanted to introduce a customer cost cap: 8 million for year-old, 12 for new spec engines......

Re: Could the time be right for a contending series?

A cheap F1-like series (in terms of competitiveness and speed) would have the potential to be a big hit if it could pick up some classic tracks to race on and some alright drivers to start off with.
