Re: Australian TV coverage

Stupid move for F1 considering their goal right now is to attract the younger market and it's fairly well known that the paid tv industry in aus has pretty much written off trying to capture the young audience after spending the last 10 years investing heavily to try (and fail) to get any meaningful...

Re: 2015 - Will there be better racing?

I'll be surprised if redbull arent up near the front next year, they and renault will have been shovelling money into their program like crazy through 2014 and the break. Im not certain Williams will have the spending power to keep up with the other top teams as they all go about fixing their weakne...

I think Jenson will step up and compete, in my opinion hes a top 5 or better driver. I wont be surprised if Alonso out does him next year but I dont expect it to be a thrashing. Jenson comes across to me as an emotional driver, as in his mood and whats going on around him affect his performance heav...

I'm assuming it'd be too late to build a 2015 car for Caterham even with Mclarens tech and backing? and if so modifying the 2014 car for the honda engine seems like a reasonably big job

Re: Jenson Button's future

Interesting bit in that bbc article Button will be on a one-year deal at a salary reduced by at least half from the reputed £12m he was earning in 2014. That indicates that Buttons primary job in 2015 will be to get the new Honda-engine up and running, and when that task is completed, he will hand ...

i really cant see a reason not to take button over kmag outside of money at this point. even with the 'youth' and planning for the future argument they can't expect mag to stick around for more than 2-3 years if hes any good and thats about the same as jenson could likely hang around anyway. I support the sport going in whatever direction it must to improve safety, but if/when closed cockpits does happen it will be somewhat of a shame for me. There's something less 'intimate' (for lack of a better word) when you add cockpits. You can no longer see driver hand gestures and reactions to e...

I thought about this too, while i think it highly unlikely, some very good luck in the remaining races and double merc DNF at abu dabi could mean a ricciardo WDC.

It would be an extremely unfair result, but part of me would find the sh*t storm that follows entertaining

Ricciardo and good job to Bianchi, good to see Mclarens up in the mix again.

Looks like Kobayashi took some damage according to Caterham twitter, shame because it looked like he had a good drive in him at the beginning and this was probably the best chance they'll get for some points

It always struck me as weird in F1 that EVERYONE seems to have a longterm girlfriend, and these are mostly young guys in their 20's. There seems to be a much lower density of 'single' in the f1 driver population sample than in the general outside world. Perhaps its because of the move around lifesty...
