Re: F1 no longer the pinnacle of motorsport
All the major series are the best at what they do. The rules are the limiting factor in preventing another series to get to the level of complexity of F1. Lap times and money spent is a shortsighted way at looking at where the most technology is. If you take the aero away, F1 is not doing anything d...

Re: Pit Lane Camera Man
Also why does it seem like almost everyone in the pitlane is required to wear protective gear except the camera man? Hope he recovers quickly. Agreed. After this IMO _ANYONE_ in the pitlane during Quali or race must be wearing a helmet and probably fireproofs. I realise that neither of those would ...

Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread
To be honest, I think 2 podium steps is pretty terrific result for Lotus, max possible today, even with broken KERS Vettel had the pace to block indefinitely and they beaten both Mercs, Alonso and Webber today... its interesting to see that the gap between Vettel and Kimi is very close to the advan...

Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread
its interesting to see that the gap between Vettel and Kimi is very close to the advantage Vettel had in total time in pits. The RB pit crew did the job and kept Vettel in front. Vettel should be buying dinner and a few drinks today for those guys.

Re: German Grand Prix Race Thread
WHAT A ducking ASTONISHING RACE !!!!!!!!! race of the year so far. Would be nice to disable Hamiltons team radio, don't wanna hear that crying. Amazing race also for Lotuses, i thought Kimi maybe might have ended on 2 stops, pity, Vettel kept it cool, very very pro, Alonso of course also as usual p...

Oops, the armchair experts who were attacking Pirelli after Silverstone apparently were wrong. Unless we assume Kimi knows less about F1 than random collection of internet anons. Huh, I guess everyone who said it could be team/driver fault was right after all ;) So you think Kimi knows all about ty...

Re: Alonso's new beard
A young Don Quijote!! Riding his trusty steed, with his princess waiting for him in the pits, Now we just need a Sancho Panza? Who might that be? Felipe Massa anyone? :D Come to think of it is a good analogy, Alonso the modern Don Q riding his horse (his Ferrari) fighting giants (Red Bull, Merc and ...

Re: Grosjean Today
I think the fans gave Massa a harder time last year with almost 100% of the posters asking for Massa's head. At more or less the same percent of the season completed he was about 86 points behind Alonso with Fernando having a good start despite the odds with what was arguably a very difficult car to...

Re: Should Grosjean be excluded from F1?
I dunno about exclusions but if I was Lotus I'd definitely be dropping him. He's costing them money on repairs,he has almost 1/4 of Kimi's points and while the other championship contenders have a team mate who can take points off the other contenders,Kimi has a team mate that can barely finish a r...

Re: Interesting Q & A with Dr. Vijay Mallya after Monaco res
So Kimi took Sutil out years ago, didnt remember it... I wonder if Kimi thought he should've been punched himself in the face? ;) It has been said by some posters that the situation can not be compared one to the other. I agree Kimi was not trying to pass, he just made a mistake, lost the rear, cou...

Re: NBC Monaco coverage: WTF HAPPENED?!!
Okay I now understand that it was my mistake and I set up the DVR to record the re-run, but that mistake was due to lack of consistency from the Network. Why move from one of your channels to the other, I cant see the logic behind it other than to create confusion, just give us the race live at one ...

Re: NBC Monaco coverage: WTF HAPPENED?!!
I was about to open a thread about this but did not know if I was alone or was an issue with the service provider. It seems they planned on recording the race to broadcast at a later time, the red flag messed everything up for them as the race extended to their planned broadcast time, that is why th...

Re: Perez driving today
As a Kimi fan I was worried as soon as Perez got behind him after seeing some of his driving today and after the failed attempt out of the tunnel it did seem only a matter of time before he ruined Kimi's or his own race and in the end ruined both. Don't see how he can be praised for just chucking i...

Re: Should Grosjean be excluded from F1?
there is something wrong with this guy, it seems he has a weak mind, looses concentration and creates problems for himself. Hopefully he will bounce back but in truth, the parts bill for the weekend was high and even tho Lotus might not have problems replacing parts it does creates more work for the...

Impressive laps even with the advantage of the rubber. Super quick with the hands on that last pass over the bump where Massa lost it twice!!

Re: Physics/Maths of F1 acceleration and speeds
First: Our maximum force is the same, therefore our acceleration must be the same, unless we've dumped a passenger and lost a little bit of mass along the way. Second: Each rev we gain in our engine means we will cover the double of distance than in our previous gear (remember our ratio is now 1 to...

Re: Alonso vs Raikkonen
I find that looking only at qualy laps and fastest laps is only half of the picture. Weight must be given to racecraft and also integrity on the business of racing. The top four are very evenly match if you add all their weakness and strenghts, integrity being Alonso's weakness. He is up there in te...

Re: Button vs Perez
I don't see Checo being "better" or having a better race than JB just because he was more aggressive. In fact it was disappointing to see him pulling the moves he pulled not caring if they were successful or not, some of those moves were successful thanks to the awareness of other drivers. First hit...

Re: Who was / is the biggest spolied brat driver in F1?
Alonso, when, always! But it is not his fault. People tell him every second "ahhh you are so great" that he truly believes he is. Don't get me wrong he is good, has great car control, but so others on the grid. Is never his fault cause he is perfect, ran into the back of Vettel...cries foul Vettel t...
