Re: Sound test the Redbull
F1 has always been about innovating ways of gaining an advantage, and pushing the regulations to their limits. If Red Bull have found a way of effectively having a way of controlling traction, without breaking the regulations... They've did nothing wrong. You'd expect the proposed suspension linked ...

Re: Red Bull/Newey, crazy fast but a little bit weak?
It's always been a criticism of Newey that his cars are fragile.
However he has designed some of the most dominant (non Ferrari) cars in the sport over the last 20yrs. When Newey get's it right the car is capable of the spectacular.

Give cars something approaching standardised aero, and with F1 as it currently is you'll see a more even grid.

Re: Pointless to give Di Resta penalty after the race.
I think penalties are banded about too easily these days. It's Monza. A 200mph track, braking into 50-60-70mph chicanes. There are always incidents at the start. In the case of Raikonnen, a car cut across him on a crowded track into one of the tightest corners, and biggest braking zones on the calen...

Re: How many of the current drivers could win in the Red Bul
I think probably half the field would take a win over a season if in the current Red Bull. A better question would be how many drivers could be WDC if the #1 driver for Red Bull Racing. I think Alonso, Button, Hamilton, Raikonnen would all be in with a shout. As would Rosberg, perhaps Hulkenberg. Wh...

Re: Is Vettel the most boring champion of all time?
When Vettel is interviewed he always comes across as happy, fun loving, and quite witty. I actually really like him outside of the race weekend. However, on track, he does only ever seem to win 1 way. Start on the front row, get ahead, maintain the gap. For a soon to be 4x World Champion, so few dri...

Re: Why hate on Vettel?
My own thing with Vettel is that whilst he is brilliant, he isn't that brilliant (relative to his competition) that he should be winning 4 on the bounce. However put an elite driver in the best car and 9/10 he ends up WDC. Vettel has been fortunate in that regard. A common perception is Vettel's suc...

Re: Unarguably the best driver on the grid
There is very little between the 'big 4', whoever has the best overall car between them usually would be expected to win if nothing goes too wrong. For Vettel, rarely over the past 4 seasons has the Red Bull been any worse than the 2nd best car at any given GP, hence his incredible stats. Give any o...

Re: Can Hamilton, Alonso or Raikkonen actually beat Vettel?
Vettel is one of the 4 elite drivers on the grid, of which there isn't a massive amount between. Despite his stats over the last 4-5yrs, he isn't universally considered the best in the field.
Put an elite driver in the best car, and he is nearly always WDC

Re: Would Alonso really have died?
A few kilos of rubber hitting your head at 180mph, would generate enough force to potentially kill, be it as a direct result (neck fracture, blunt trauma), or indirect (crash when semi concious/unconcious/blinded). Either way, if tyres exploding like that can be avoided, it is best to do everything ...

Re: Schumacher and Mercedes
On hindsight, I don't think Schumacher had declined to the extent we all thought. He was still very, very capable, and if given the equipment I've now no doubt he'd of challenged for wins. His points tallies don't give a fair indication of his performances in his 3yrs at Mercedes. Schumacher did out...

Re: suddenly pirelli become UNsafe!! is this conspiracy ؟؟
I'm fed up talking about the lack of quality of the tyres, for one reason or another, after almost every race.
Tyres should never be as much of an issue as they are, and that was before this new issue!

Re: Pirelli have ruined F1 for almost everyone!!!!!
I'd of had more respect for a driver/team if they just brought their cars into the pits and retired them on safety grounds. It was evident that there was something wrong today, and I'm sure there will be a thorough investigation, but.... what happened there today was NOT safe. Those tyres could of g...

Re: What a boring race
The alternative to this isn't processional races. Nobody wants to go back to them.
However that was one extreme, this is another. Lets try strife for a less polarised tyre policy. We can surely get tyres that are a bit more durable, allowing for a bit more aggression, etc.

Re: What a boring race
In my opinion it's a sign of someone not fully engaging their brain to be unable to separate the concept of 'tyres always being something that one should manage' from 'tyre management is dominating the sport.' Spot on! What we are seeing just now is extreme. We're seeing tyres that can do 4-5 fast ...

Re: What a boring race
When a racing driver pushes at 100%, he gets punished severely for it with degradation within a couple of laps. It isn't worth pushing at 100%, as the losses are too great. That isn't what motorsport is about. Pirelli and the governing body need to develop something which allows drivers to be able t...

Re: Mercedes Driver's Frustration
There is something wrong, when the Merc drivers don't drive particularly bad races, have cars capable of putting in the best times in practice and qualifying 1&2, yet finish in the midfield.
It must be incredibly frustrating for the drivers, knowing they have a good car, but can't use it properly!

Re: What a boring race
Tyre have always been part of F1, they always will be part of F1. However just now I'd argue that they are the most important factor in deciding a race. Motor racing where a driver can only do 2-3 laps at full pace, before suffering severe degradation of their tyres and experience severe drop off, i...

I want to see the best drivers, drive at close to 100%. That is what motor racing should be about.
They need to do something about this, the current format is utterly fairy cakes.

Re: Until he takes on Alonso or Hamilton in identical machin
I think the problem with Vettel is his stats don't seem to match peoples/pundits/bloggers opinions on how good he is. Depending on who you ask, he could be considered anywhere between the best and 4th best driver on the grid (with Alonso, Hamilton and Raikonnen). His stats, for the last 2 seasons es...
