Re: 2019 Monaco Grand Prix Race Thread

Just because he wasn't penalised doesn't mean anything. Maybe because Charlie Whiting wasn't there and they aren't so on the ball. Maybe what happened with Verstappen changed there application of the rules. He dropped 7 seconds to Hamilton who we know was not speeding and likely driving the delta. ...

Re: Anyone have any radical ideas to fix F1?

Here's another radical idea.... Get rid of blue flags!

It'll make the fight for the lead a little more interesting and with DRS, if someone can't lap a car, there really is something wrong.

Re: Anyone have any radical ideas to fix F1?

Regarding the main discussion of the thread, it all depends what people want. If you just want more overtaking, more wheel to wheel racing and the field being more evenly matched, the only way to change this is to fully restrict the entire series into a spec series. As soon as you give teams any cre...

Re: Anyone have any radical ideas to fix F1?

The problem with some posters is that they blame Pirelli for bad tyres and a monopoly on the tyres, when they seem oblivious to the fact that FOM only wanted 1 tyre manufacturer, wanted tyres that specifically don't last and that no other tyre manufacturer wanted the contract under the specificatio...

Re: Anyone have any radical ideas to fix F1?

Getting PIRELLI out of F1 will be a start! No need to get them out, just let anyone provide tires Nah they need to go, I dont want to see a repeat of '05 where certain cars work on certain tracks. The problem with pirelli is that everyone is stuck with them due to their monopoly, and the solution w...

Just finished watching the replay. I thought they were using the full GP layout this year, so a little disappointed to see the short track, but great race.

Gutted for Bird, he drove such a great race making up all those places on track.

Lewis said in a post race interview that he lost the race because he was too nice in turn one. He was pushing a fellow driver half cars width out of actual racing track and calls it "too nice". After a few US posters mentioned the sky bias, I did notice at 1 point in China a distinct difference between the C4 and Sky commentary teams - the Mercedes double stop. After Bottas came on the radio saying 'don't cost me time' the C4 team both commented that he had to slow before entering the box ...

I wouldn't be against another race in China, it is after all a big country, but I'd personally prefer to see a race in Africa so all the continents (excluding Antarctica!) are represented. We only have 1 south American race and 4 in the American time zones, so I wouldn't be against another south Ame...

I suspect you have chosen to miss the point. That, was the point I was trying to make. On that note, let's leave it...I sure as heck don't ...
