I swear like a docker when it suits, but I actually quite liked having the filter as it helped prevent the tone of the posts become too abusive and confrontational. 2) Can we have a Official Threads sticky with links to each *Offi...

have you seen the vid clips of the Subarau rally in his honour -for what is effectively a bunch of boy-racers driving slowly along a dull grey english motorway, it's suprisingly moving.

Re: What Is - RACECRAFT
it's the ability to combine a number of skills in order to get good results. This is opposed to having outright speed over a lap. Jean Alesi for example, had speed in buckets, but his racecraft bucket was a little empty. Schumacher had both which meant he was nigh on unbeatable as his competitors fo...

How he got his break into F1 is irrelevant at this time, if you ask me. Clearly people saw something in him beyond his results and they seem to be correct. ... and its not just "one race" that has made his career in F1 either (something you have eluded to I know). There is the first race of last ye...

Re: Sutil: Sauber would be good place for a return
Sutil had 90 races in F1 - that's not exactly a missed opportunity. He was a little unlucky in that it was during a time when there was little chnage in drives with top teams, but if he was on anyones radar he could have progressed. I thought we'd see him at Williams to be honest. He did look pretty...

An explorer is being led deep into the jungle by a local tribesman. In the distance they can hear the jungle drums. As they walk, the drums get louder and the explorer starts to worry. "Drums OK" says the guide, "When drums stop - then you must be scared" "Why is that?" asks the explorer nervously "...

It continued that Mercedes story of last year - in the mix for the first 2/3rds of the race, then just never seem to be at the sharp end when it counts. Obviously it's only one race, but they really need to start getting good results consistently. Enough 'promise' and 'potential' - time to deliver....

Re: Should Maldonado have settled for 6th?
I've always had a fairly clear opinion on this. I think drivers should go for every opportunity they have, every lap, every race. The exceptions are 1) when a WDC is at stake and a passing attempt risks losing more than it gains and 2) when the team tells them to back off. 2 is slightly more content...
