I dont think I would be inclined to show a driver that cost my company 100m USD and a shedload of WCC points. Not because that driver honestly cared about McLaren having an unfair advantage but because that driver was being a prima donna about not being number one driver.

The issue with tolerance on a speed limit is that if the team know they can get away with 66 km/h in a 60km/h pit lane then that's the speed they will do in the pit lane. Thus you might as well mandate a 66 km/h limit.

Whilst I wouldn't comment on the situation in Japan myself because I am not up to date with the facts I would say that the first thing that springs to mind is that the article you have posted there is in the Daily Mail.
