Anyone heard of Way Back Machine? It archives websites from way back. I just ran this forum through the machine - choosing 2005. Wow, it's barely changed a bit.

Re: Marshal getting debris in Russia
It reminded me of Canada 2011 and that crazy marshal tripping over himself on the track again and again as a car was heading right for him. I think any debris on track that needs to be cleared should have a minimum of VSC while the marshals go out on track. This situation would have called for VSC, ...

Re: Sorry but Maldonado is a Complete Joke
I like him. Was Montoya this unpopular when he was hitting other cars? He had plenty of Maldonado moments but I remember him being very popular indeed. I see parallels between the two's racecrafts, well except for the fact Montoya was lightning faster. Maybe people would like Maldonado more if he wa...

Re: Manor Lays Down A Sick Burn On Fernando Alonso
I remember Paul Hembry burning Alonso in a similar way when he spoke ill of his precious Pirellis. Something like "a certain 4x world champion seems to win just fine with our tyres". Ouch! Poor Alonso, always on the receiving end, lol. 4 x wdc? So that was targeting Vettel, wasn't it? He was basica...

Re: Formula 1 Butterfly Effect
If Hamilton never existed, Alonso may well be the Michael Schumacher of his generation. 07, 08 definitely. The 09 Macca fell short because they were developing the 08 car right to the very last race, so given how early he would have wrapped up the 08 season, the 09 car would have likely fought for t...

Re: Formula 1 Butterfly Effect
Imola 1994 not happening, would Senna have gone on to win the championship that year, what would he have done for the rest of his career. ....and how would that have impacted on Schumacher, would he still have won 7 titles? I actually think it's possible he would have won more. Senna was 34 when he...

He seems a nice guy from his Friday practice commentary on the BBC. Not many can simply walk away from their sport at will, so kudos to him for that.

Re: Could the time be right for a contending series?
I don't see how that FOTA breakaway series wouldn't have worked just because of the tracks. I remember on this forum how there was great excitement as to which tracks they WOULD be using after breaking away from F1. There are plenty of tracks that are either already spec ready or only need some chan...

Dude, chill. We're entitled to our opinions and entitled to express those opinions with whatever metaphor we wish. It's high and chunky, like a bus. In comparison F2004 is low and sleaky like a Lambo.

Such different shaped cars...
I was thinking all season how similar this years Ferrari looks to the 2002-2006 Ferraris, but just now I saw this photo on Facebook and it struck me how hugely different they actually look. One looks like a bus and the other looks like a real sports car. https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...

Raikkonen had moments of brilliance in 2007. Yes it took him time to adapt to Ferrari, but he put in some stellar drives late in the season. Most notably Fuji, where (after a bad call from Ferrari to start on inters), he charged his way from 21st to 3rd in absolutely treacherous conditions. DYmaBpJ...

Re: Lights out and away we go!
One of the things I noticed about the American commentators (the old ones from SPEEDTV) is that they don't feel the need to constantly talk throughout the entire 2 hours. They speak only when either something relevant has happened, or if they have something relevant to say. For the most part, they ...

Speaking of oldtimers, where did No-Fan go? I loved his passionate posts stating the case that Fisi was the better Renault driver than Fernando! I couldn't stand him at the time and he was why I kept away from posting on the forum (I joined in 2005 and made my first post last January).
But he was super intelligent and I look back on his posts now with some admiration. Does permanent really mean permanent?

2005 Kimi Vs 2015 Kimi, in 2005 McLaren. We might get some answers.
Speaking of getting answers... 2008 Massa Vs 2012 Massa Vs 2015 Massa in a 3-car team, lets say in 2015 Williams.
2005 Kimi Vs 2005 Alonso in 2005 McLaren as well.

Drivers leaning their heads sideways down the straights...
They don't do it anymore. I used to remember all of them leaning their heads as they blasted down the long straights and thinking as a kid that it was funny. I know why they did it, to get max air into the air intake above their heads. So how come they don't do it anymore? The air intake is still th...

I didn't see the show, but could it be more about the British media's addiction to controversy rather than a grudge? From what I see, Murray Walker always has the utmost respect and admiration for Schumacher, he was one of the few being really classy about him while he was British sports' enemy numb...

Apparently the banking is now a flat. Hey, does anyone know why the F1 race was run the opposite way round the track? I miss Indy as an F1 venue, it was spectacular to watch the cars on the oval. And the acoustics there were unlike any other track I've heard. Watch some V10 era races of cars going r...

What if Einstein was an F1 Driver?
Smarts go a long way as a driver. He'd have to get in better shape and get physically fit, but his mental prowess would have him brilliantly good in changeable conditions, as he'd know out how the car and tyres would work in any given circumstance + corner better than current drivers can, as well as...
