Anyone notice that NBCS will be taken up by the Tour de France during qualifying? I checked NBC and CNBC and neither say anything about qualifying coverage, just that the race will be shown on CNBC and not NBCS.
So am I missing something or will there be no quali coverage in the US?

A reverse gear is mandatory. So 8 gear ratios minus 1 for reverse, would leave us with normal 7 gears. 8 gear ratios is not the same as 8 gears, it's just 8 ratio configurations for the whole season. For example: Monza and Spa would require a similar gear ratios, longer gears for higher top speads....

Car looks very good through S1 and 2, but S3 is much slower than the RB and Merc. That should be ok though because there aren't any passing opportunities in S3

I expect Lotus to do something similar with their nose. In the reveal of the E21 they said they had explored the possibility of a vanity panel, but wouldn't implement it until they could get it to a point where there isn't a comprimise (ie. extra weight).

Was a great drive from Kimi, but I don't think he could've beat Alonso even if it wsan't for the incident. Lotus say he lost about 0.25s/lap because of the damage. I think the incident was on lap 20 (?), so that means he lost 8 seconds to Alonso due to the damage, but Kimi was over 10s behind Alonso...

Lotus is unnecessarily slow at pit stops, and it's not because of their equipment; they've done a sub 3 second stop before, it's just that they are usually around 3.5.
But there strategy was actually good in Melbourne for once.
I'd like to see more of that
