Re: The official NICO HULKENBERG Thread
What happened with the tires at the end? Just couldn't get the right temps? He lost so much time on them. Otherwise, yeah, given the circumstances I think he did quite alright.

Re: Lights and jump starts
No idea what the rules actually say, but in my mind it should be simple: after the first light comes on, any movement before the lights (start to) go out should be considered a jump start. If the transponder has inaccuracies, a camera based system should be fairly trivial to whip up in these AI/ML d...

Re: 2021 Regs
Sorry if this has already been covered but are they planning to remove DRS for 2021? During the interview with Ross Brawn by Martin Brundle over at Sky F1, this question was asked. Paraphrasing, his reply was that they're not removing it yet but their goal with the regulation changes is to reduce t...

FWIW since joining Red Bull his average finishing position is 5.1. Personally I'd call that "around 5th".Randine wrote:Albon driving to around 6th each race (4th his best) is what most drivers on the grid could achieve in that car.

Re: Albon in, Gasly out
There is a huge difference between the 19 races completed by Albon and the 23 completed by Leclerc. Leclerc spent a full season in 1 team and then moved straight to Ferrari where he would have spent the entire winter and pre-season in the Ferrari environment and simulator which would have helped hi...

Re: 2019 Japanese Grand Prix Race Thread
It's kind of interesting the way it refers to Vettel's blistering starts but this time he was caught out by the unusually late delay on the lights going out as if Vettel has been anticipating the starts, then if you ally that to how far his car was able to roll without triggering the sensor it begs...

Di Resta pointed out that 4-5 cars were all within a few tenths of eachother and we were watching Vettel drive around all on his own. Cutting away ...

Where's the fun in sports if things can't get a little heated. Gunther should have said the decision was stupid tho, and as such an apology would be in order. But not much more than that IMO.

No changes needed IMHO. This wasn't much different from a car going off track and generating a yellow or red flag, which is part of the challenge with qualifying, ie getting a good lap in. Cars blocking should get penalized for that of course.

As far as I'm concerned, to be considered an all time great he at least needs to put out an album that wins a Grammy album of the year award, and to win a season of Ex on the Beach. Anything less and he'll just be a very successful Formula 1 driver.

Since 2014, he would have struggled to win with another car. And I'm certain Rosberg could not have done his WDC title in another car. On the flip side, there's been few others on the grid which I think would have seriously challenged him over those years. Alonso before he lost motivation. Vettel ce...

Binotto came out and said it was an "error in judgement" not to send Charles out for another lap. They were trying to save a set of tires for tomorrow. I forget stuff, does Toro Rosso have a track record for hiring non-Red Bull drivers? Based on the interviews with Marco I assumed they didn't, and as such TR would not be a viable option for drivers such as Ocon.

Getting Sky isn't an option for me, so this looks like a nice way to get official access. The onboard options look interesting too, like in China just now I'd rather want to follow Kimi's fight than watch a Ferrari drive around with no-one around him for the 15th lap in a row.

Yeah, and none of this would have mattered if Hamilton's engine didn't go pop in Malaysia.
