Re: 2022 Singapore Grand Prix Race Thread
As wet races go, this is up there with the very worst ever. That said, we're only just past half distance. Fingers crossed for some action.

So come on then. Why SC for the Alfa and VSC for the Alpine? F1 just make things up as they go along.

Re: 2022 Singapore Grand Prix Race Thread
Is anyone underwhelmed by Max so far or is he simply not taking any risks due to having such a lead in the WDC? Perhaps hoping for a decent strategy and more speed that others on slicks.

Re: 2022 Singapore Grand Prix Race Thread
It wasn't on, Martin, George went from miles back and didn't get close to making the corner. Commentary I am listening to speculates that Russell is still suffering from the car 'trying to push him on' after lifting off the throttle - apparently, this has been hampering him through the weekend. May...

Re: 2022 Singapore Grand Prix Race Thread
What staggers me more than the SC being called, is the fact that it takes so long to remove an F1 car that's not very damaged and is right next to an escape road.

My god. Safety car!!!!!
Just use the VSC, throw a trolley jack under the back of the Alfa, spin the back round and push it away.
Even better, do it under a Slow Zone.

Re: 2022 Singapore Grand Prix Race Thread
Looks like they will start on inters ffs, what's the point in wets? We have missed a major part of the race watching drivers race in wet conditions and judging the crossover point to inters. And you know that if it starts raining during the race, the moment the teams reach for the wets or extreme w...

Re: 2022 Singapore Grand Prix Race Thread
This 3 hours thing is crazy. Only F1 can have rules like this and then mess about with having to run a full pre-race procedure. In fact, when something slightly different happens in F1, I genuinely believe that nobody actually knows what is going to happen and the FIA dig into their rule books and h...

The highly qualified men and women who design wet and extreme wet tyres, must wonder why they even bother. Not to mention Pirelli wondering why they spend millions developing those tyres.

If nothing else, F1 has taken the chance to prove the end of last season was certainly concocted for the TV a mistake and wasn't actually following the rules. What a brilliant own goal! Re: 2022 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread
The fact that a sport like F1 doesn't have a simple way for cars to be removed from the side of the track is criminal. OK, gravel traps are a little different but where the McLaren came to rest should not have taken more than a couple of minutes to clear. You simply have all marshal posts supplied ...

Re: Overly cluttered F1 fraphics, unwanted sound and other stuff
A lot of the new graphics are poor, but the one thing I don't mind is the distance/time to the car in front. Assuming it's accurate, seeing them gain in the tow is interesting with the gap shown in real time.

Honestly, I feel sick after today. The TSU retirement was suspicious as any incident I've seen since Crashgate. Didn't cause a SC on attempt #1, send him back out for another go. Then the snake Russell shows his true colours. Happy to beat Hamilton rather than try to help the team win a race. 'The ...

If you look at my posting history you'll see I've been calling for the abolishment of the "safety" car for years. You need to have a method of giving the marshall's a clear track to do their stuff. What other options are there? Slow zones and Red flags. There is no reason why Marshalls can't work w...

OK. I just rewound the incident with Bottas and timed the following. When we first saw Bottas just coming to a halt, it took 93 seconds for the safety car to be called. I guess you could easily add another 10 seconds to that because the FIA would have seen him slowing down earlier on the straight. ...
