Re: 2019 Russian Grand Prix Race Thread
Well that was a shame, but Vettel was kickin' it in that first stint, leaving Charles in the dust. Since he would not have been allowed to pass in the 2nd stint, that was all set. Pity about the MKU. Course now the race is on with the current development. Merc has been slow tho - and they Pit Charle...

I love how you like to pretend that he lied to the stewards of his own accord when it was blatantly obvious he was told to do so by McLaren. I do not pretend he has no mind of his own. Also Lewis was a much younger and much more impetuous driver back then, his approach to racing was win or crash wh...

Re: It's not the car, it's Lewis!
If Vettel was in the Mercedes I have no doubt he would have achieved everything and more than Hamilton, its as if '10 - '13 seasons didn't happen. You don't even need to speculate you actually have the data. Vettel has lost a lot of points in the last 3 seasons due to his own mistakes. Lewis hasn't...

What are you actually even talking about? You want him to just be fake? For the media? No thanks. I prefer the drivers to be real. Re: It's not the car, it's Lewis!
It is both. With respect to the car, you could place any top driver in the Mercedes as its #1 driver and a WDC would be produced. There is simply no real competition for a top driver in that car. However, Lewis IS the driver in that car and he earned a top-car seat which is not something every drive...

Re: Unpopular opinions (2019)
1. Vettel is a far better driver than Hamilton. (I only believe comparisons are fair in a winning drive, so that is my basis). 2. Young drivers that are considered "hot shots" are given a lot of rope to hang themselves and usually do, to the detriment of the more experienced drivers. 3. I am bored o...

But not the previous 2 years so that differs from Vettel. Vettel had that in 2012. The Red Bull was no more the clear best car that year than the Mercedes was in 2017. I'd say that's fair but I'd say that, for Hamilton, you also have to include 2008. 2008 is something Vettel hasn't done, true -- wi...

Bring back Alonso. Indeed, I wouldn't have given Vettel another big 3-year contract in the first place at least not with options, he's done nothing at Ferrari to deserve such a reward. It was obvious to me Leclerc would put some manners on him and said so at the time. Ferrari have screwed up their ...

Obviously RBR. He will fight for the title there. He would not be able to fight for the title at Ferrari unless they manage to turn that car around. Don't let the last two Ferrari tracks play with your mind. Mercedes does not want warring champions (i.e., Rosberg or Jenson) and unless another team s...

Michael Massi's interview with Davidson on Sky cleared a lot of this up. The teams and drivers asked for the black and white flag to be used more rather than having to either issue a penalty or condone the practice. Massi said had there been contact the stewards would likely have given a penalty. B...

Assuming the drivers can find reverse. Max seemed completely at fault to me. Kimi likely didn't see him, but certainly didn't expect him to brake late - he wasn't so much leaving no room as expecting no one to be there . Hamilton is already an all time great.
Hamilton and Vettel are the current drivers in that category. I have to say this though, I think Kimi is an icon in this sport and that is an equally brilliant accomplishment.

I've discussed this in the past with regards to Alonso being content to be number 1 at Ferrari with a very distant Massa, perhaps costing him titles to Vettel.
