Re: MotoGP 2016

Yesterday was a GP of the maiden wins. First win for Crutchlow and first british win in the top class since Barry Sheene in 1981! Also John McPhee's first victory in Moto3 and also first ever victory for a Peugeot bike I think? Is not the Peugoet bike a Mahindra? The Peugeot is a rebadged Mahindra....

I did mean to watch the BMX stuff but forgot. If you can watch a rerun, do. I watched two races, which were the men's semi finals (I think), and it was brutal. One guy hit a jump, and his front forks snapped on landing. In the other, the Brazilian guy faceplanted trying to trail brake through the l...

US men's sprinting is really in a rough state. The Jamaican's have completely taken over and our team can't seem to get their act together. Something always seems to go wrong. Anyway, with Bolt hanging up his sneakers (and cape), 2020 is open season. De Grasse of Canada looks to be the favorite rig...

Re: Official Olympics 2016 Thread

I disagree.... the whole exchange is a rythym and the initial contact disrupted it, and it took place within the US lane. You agree that Brazil should have been DQ'd, then why would the victim be DQ's as well. As for the controversy, in large part there hasn't been much of a controversy... some rum...

Re: Official Olympics 2016 Thread

What controversy? The other runner impeded the American baton handoff in the American's lane. I think the DQ of the other team is pretty straight-forward. The reason they gave the Americans a chance to qualify again is because the race is run in lanes and there are only the set amount of lanes avai...

Re: Official Olympics 2016 Thread

Slightly controversially, after the USA Women's 4x100 team were disqualified for dropping the baton, they appealed saying that Brazil committed a lane violation and impeded them, so they were allowed to rerun the 4x100m by themselves and went into the final as a fastest loser.

So, has anyone played Goldeneye Source yet? It is glorious. It's basically Goldeneye's multiplayer mode using the Half Life 2 engine.
All the original levels are there, as well as updated versions of them that are bigger than the original (the entire Dam level is a multiplayer map here).

The punishment has to, by definition (and to be effective in any way), act as a deterrent. That drugs are still a huge problem in sports means the punishments are not strong enough. I'd agree with what huggybear said, it's not the best show, but if you take it with a pinch of salt and ignore the love interest storyline with Atom, it's a fun show. Now double yellows is a red flag, so surely when everyone goes out for there second runs in Q3 and the current pole sitter goes last and makes a mistake in turn 1 so decides to go off in corner 2 and bring out the red flag ruining everyone else's lap times in front of him which would basically be e...

There is no real punishment for abuse of the yellow flags being enforced, so drivers and teams interpret the rules as 'don't go green/purple in that sector', instead of 'there's a crashed/slow moving car ahead, be careful'.
