He'll get a slap on the wrist. Stewards won't want to ruin the championship fight. Whether it affects the championship or not should be irrelevant, I feel this at the end of a season when people go on about others not racing those fighting for the championship - how they race them should be the sam...

Planet F1 reporting Hamilton has signed a two year extension at £40m a year. Can someone explain to me why Merc would pay that sort of money when Alonso would drive the Merc for peanuts? It's not even as if Hamilton had many options, especially if he wants to win more titles. So £40M would be an in...

Re: Boring races? People have short memories...
I thought the French Grand Prix was pretty decent to be honest. A mistake by one of the title contenders led to first lap chaos and subsequent charge through the field, while there was plenty of mid-pack action, even without the artificial DRS zones. Yet reading through this forum and twitter I see...

I sit corrected, weird decision then Just a clever way to look like you're giving a very harsh penalty without actually doing anything. This is frequently stated, and I disagree with it every time. Taking away Schumacher's lifetime legacy - his points and wins - was not the point of the penalty, an...

Re: F1 Entertainment Value (TERMINAL ISSUE)
You have to wonder what the point is of paying a driver mega money for the last tenth he brings, when he's driving three seconds off the true pace of the car to preserve the engine? I agree that the FIA should stipulate the rules and take a take it or leave it stance, but aren't the FIA the ones res...

Re: Are F1 drivers paid too much?
The difference in salaries between the drivers does not in any meaningful or accurate way reflect the actual difference in talent or hard work. If driver A receives 20 million dollars per year and driver B receives 5 million dollars per year, it is really hard to argue this is justified because dri...

Re: F1 needs faster safety cars!
Isn't part of the problem that the cars could run at a decent speed around the rest of the lap and only need to slow down for where the problem actually is, that way they could keep their tyre temps up - but the Safety Car needs to be capable of racing speeds to allow this to happen.

How to make F1 more exciting should be the question. It's not like if Monaco was the only borefest of the season... At least it allows great filming, which the 19 other dull races of the season rarely do (except Spa and Singapour, mainly because of the night). There was a time when you could see ra...

I'm a hardened Hamilton fan boy, but even I had to applaud Vettel's drive at the Bahrain GP - it was exceptional race management. If, as people suggest, the general level of female competitiveness is so low, then a women's only series is a terrible idea. The best way to improve is to compete with people better than yourself and 'up your game' to beat them. A women's series would likely produce one dominant woman who would then...
