Re: when, and to where, will the Ricciardo move take place?

With unreliability in the mix, the relative performances of Verstappen and Ricciardo are in truth hard to read at this point. Max had a run of mistakes where there was probably a wavering of confidence.. but he is past that now. They are both great drivers, and the both their relative strengths. Ho...

Re: when, and to where, will the Ricciardo move take place?

I think this is a good move for Ricciardo. Clearly for whatever reason Max has been chosen as the next F1 Megastar and you do not want to be in a team with someone like that. Plus, I'm not convinced the Honda engine is going to be the one to deliver a WDC for either him or Max... plus Renault is a w...

Vergne not capitalising on an advantage doesn't mean there isn't one. We saw it with Alonso and Button as well. Starting one row apart but one of them either gets... A free choice of tyres which depending on what circuit and conditions that weekend can be a massive advantage Fresher tyres usually b...

Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread

However, I think Lewis has a bit of a point. The commentary lacks the verve and vigour for the moment and the appreciation of a rarer performance as it's unfolding. In their defence the tone was set early when the Formula 1B cars just waved him through , it clearly really annoyed them. Not Lewis's ...

Re: Force India to file for bankruptcy/Stroll Sr. buys team!

It's one thing for a no-hope backmarker to slide into bankruptcy, it's quite another for a team like FI. Proof if ever it were needed that Liberty need to address the finances of the sport.

https://www.planetf1.com/news/pirelli-will-refer-to-hard-medium-and-soft/ Doubtless this will lead to cries of 'dumbing down' and 'pandering to the masses', but I think this is actually a good idea. Re: The Punishment Due?

Why should we protect any runners more than others? As I've said before I think they should be treated the same from the first to the last race and wherever they are in the championship. If Hamilton or Vettel cause an accident meaning another team loses a place in the WCC it could cause a massive f...

Re: A way to artificially diversify the field

It might look more diverse to a very casual F1 fan but for me (and I would imagine for most on here) it would make literally no difference. I don't think I've ever referred to Red Bull's PU as anything but Renault regardless of how it is branded, and Sauber's Alfa Romeo tie-up (which doesn't actual...

I think the penalty was a bit harsh but it also cost Lewis greatly. Having said that, one thing to keep in mind is that Kimi has been one of the cleanest drivers throughout his career. Re: The Punishment Due?

It would have made more sense to give Seb 10s and Kimi 5 secs... but a few years ago this wouldn't have even been investigated - a first lap crash on cold tyres and full tanks, instant racing incident. As CoN said, it wasn't remotely reckless, just unfortunate... it's almost like they don't want the...

The Punishment Due?

DC and Suzie Wolff were very vocal that Kimi's penalty was not harsh enough at the weekend, their main thrust seemed to be that in that situation the offending driver should be put back behind the driver who was sinned against. Leaving aside that it was Lewis who got hit at the British GP, and that ...
