Re: What would you think of a possible McLaren-Mercedes trad
I think Schumachers branding makes him a win for whoever has him in 2013 if he stays. I would be more concerned on snatching up top drivers for 2014 moreso than for next year but obviously Hamilton is 2013-2015 situation.

It definitely has the processional race stigma attached to it but with Valencia this year maybe there is hope for Singapore. I find the night backdrop and city lights pleasing to watch on the screen.

No. Senna and Schumacher cannot be blamed for the incompetence of modern drivers like Maldonado and Grosjean. Aggression (Senna and Schumacher) is not the same as incompetence and unpredictability (Maldonado and Grosjean). I can't remember Schumacher ever actually causing a high speed or nasty cras...

First title stolen from what? Schumacher is awesome. You've got to be a fool or carrying around a lot of baggage filled with reasons why a supreme racing driver isn't great. Did you guys watch Spa this weekend? Did you see what Vettel did? What a race. F1 is a sport where a great driver, backed by a...

Button Vettel And Kimi for that pass. Which pass? The one on Schumacher? That wasn't that great, MS was missing a gear, meaning his car had poor acceleration, making the pass a little less impressive. Vettels pass on Webber was better, not only in execution, but also same car etc. Agree. It's just ...

I don't know why people give so much credit to Lewis. The guy showed this weekend where is head is at. He is always in the conversation of the WDC but his machinery is top notch and he's just not all there for whatever reason. It wouldn't surprise me if he never wins another WDC in his career. F1 drivers are all "good". Much of their success came from training/preparation and how good their team was. What makes a driver "great" is his ability to do the same thing over and over and over and over again with the smallest margin of deviation per lap relative to his competitors. In that case, ...

Vettel... maybe Grosjean. I like Kimi... but Senna set the bar for passion and Kimi is clear about not always having it. I like Senna much more than Maldonado but realistically Maldonado has won a race for Williams which is HUGE and brings a ton of cash. Senna needs to top that, and all he needs to do is win a race. His name + race win will attract more money. Without the win, Williams will have to go with Maldonado. ...

Makes sense and a lot of people knew it would come to this. Mercedes wants a seat at the table with RBR, Ferrari and McLaren and if they're not going to get it, why should they stay in the sport? I would do the same thing if I was running the show from a business perspective.

It doesn't make sense for Merc to want Schu to leave. Heading into the last spec year of this car, I think the top 4 all believe they have a chance to win the WDC. There's no one Merc could bring in to win the championship with that car, not even Alonso. As they go to the bargaining table, Merc rema...

Lewis is an idiot. I'm surprised no one is saying this. He is the #1 driver in a top team. He should be saying all the right things and remain committed to McLaren who obviously want him there. It is a boring race but as others have said fun to drive. It seems as though if a driver gets dialed in with a good setup it's impossible to pass him on this track. With that said, anything is possible this year and if someone gets caught with worn out tyres maybe we will see some action in 2012.

Both Hamilton and Vettel are becoming increasingly annoying. What did you expect Hamilton to do, not race? What did you expect Vettel to do? Not be upset that a backmarker (at least in this race) is starting to get racy? They're both dumb.

Hamilton easily. At least Vettel completes a race before throwing out his ridiculous comments, Hamilton wanted to pack it in after he had a puncture. Why should he retire? Because a mechanic can't put a bolt on his tyre properly or the DRS wing is stuck open? Seems a little naive to pose the question if you've been watching F1 this year.

I think it's premature. He's in a comeback year still learning the tires. He's a speed racer and if you've been out f1 during the Pirelli era then it will take some time. I would at least give him the entire season.
