Re: Who was the better driver throughout there F1 career?
I'll break it down as follows. DC had a good amount of speed from the get BUT… he landed in better (faster) cars much earlier in his career than Mark did and he did well enough to look strong, but he never managed to look elite, and didn't ever seem to get faster as his career progressed. And let's...

Massa also finished 3rd in the 2006 WDC chase, one place behind teammate Schumacher., 4th in 2007 while helping Kimi secure his WDC by letting him past at Brazil for the win, and despite a DQ for a pit lane infraction. Those are not minor achievements. Context.... Massa finished 3rd in the WDC chas...

Good enough to take the battle to the current F1 champ (a highly regarded driver) on the same car and beat him fair and square.

Re: Massa: ‘More perfect’ Alonso better than Schumacher
Why do people place so much weight on what Massa says? He's being shown the door because he can no longer perform and now we should care about his opinion? Even if he had said Schumacher was a better driver, big deal. Because he is a F1 driver and obviously has some credibility, more than any forum...

Re: Schumy's realtionship with Ferrari
Luca was put in charge in 1991 and did whatever it took to restore glory to Ferrari. And it worked. He didn't get the credit he wanted. It was todt, brawn and Schu. LDM went to work, asserted his own stamp on the team. You can see its not going as well as he'd hoped. I can't wait until they get som...

Re: Who was the better driver throughout their F1 career?
DC just edges it for me. He had success not just with McLaren but Williams before that and an infant Red Bull too, scoring the team's first podium at Monaco in 2006. Teamed alongside the likes of Damon Hill, Mika Hakkinen and Kimi Raikkonen he seldom embarrassed himself and looked often looked ever...

Re: Massa: ‘More perfect’ Alonso better than Schumacher
Schumacher raced against those drivers but only Massa in the same car, apparently he also vetoed Hakkinen from joining him at Ferrari , and in his final year i would say he was beat fair and square by Alonso in a car of similar performance over the course of the season. Massa has been a teammate of...

Re: Drivers who have challenged for titles but never won one
People seriously put Webber here with straight face? How? :uhoh: I'd classify 'challenging' for titles if you ultimately ended up second in WDC. Massa, Irvine, Alonso in Ferrari, all qualify. Webber was never second in WDC, not even in something as dominating as 2011 RBR car, and even his WDC 3rds ...

Briatore has always said that Alonso is better than Schumacher aswell. And he is the man who worked with both and won world championships with both, therefore his opinion must be listened. Briatore is still Alonso's manager if I'm not mistaken, he has an interest to big up his driver. Not that Alon...

It makes sense. He has spent a lot more time with Alonso and had a lot more "tough time" with him.
Schumacher was at the end of his career, drained as he had said himself.

In reality we don't know what transpired back then. The body language of them all that weekend in Monza though did reveal that there was some kind of tension between LDM and MS/JT. Over the years, I have seen Luca depicted as an ignorant, stupid, incompetent, rude, power-hungry, arrogant, control-freak, pathetic excuse for a team principle (even for a man), and seldom have I ever seen him be given credit for anything in here. I think many of those criticizing Montezemolo are ...

My own thing with Vettel is that whilst he is brilliant, he isn't that brilliant (relative to his competition) that he should be winning 4 on the bounce. However put an elite driver in the best car and 9/10 he ends up WDC. Vettel has been fortunate in that regard. A common perception is Vettel's su...

There is no way Johny Herbert and Jos Verstappen were 1 - 2 seconds per lap slower than Michael Schumacher as occured on occasions during 1994 and 1995. 2000-2005 shows what a decent driver in Barrichello (who was not much faster than Herbert when his team mate) was on average 0.3 seconds slower th...

Finally, bringing a 40 year old Schumacher in the Mercedes is not really going to back your point. Of course he wasn't as fast as Rosberg; but that's not because he didn't get preferential treatment. It's because he was god-damned 40+ years old with a 4 year gap and a completely new car than what h...

I don't have a problem with Vettel at all, but I think I understand why some do. Firstly at least some of the booing at Spa was for Greenpeace protesters out of shot. I don't think permanent stewarding team would be good. That creates great opportunity for favouritism.
