Re: Why did Ferrari pit Vettel so early?
Vettel lost the race because he was too greedy on the restart. With the benefit of hindsight, he should have stayed behind Bottas and just waited for the race to fall into his lap. At the time however, it seemed like the best chance he had to retake the lead. The important thing was being ahead of ...

Re: Who was at fault, Ricciardo or Verstappen? (Baku 2018)
I was under the impression that you get 1 defensive move, and then you are allowed to move back to take your line through the corner. Given that Dan was never alongside in any capacity, going by my understanding (and correct me if i'm wrong) then i'm not really sure what Max has done so wrong in th...

Re: Vettel / Verstappen / Raikkonen Clash! Who to blame?
One thing people overlooked was Kimi continuing after being hit, then realising he could not steer the car. This was important as he then hit Max, who hit Alonso. Had Kimi stopped, at least one other car could still carry on.

Re: So is that that for the title battle?
No. It's too early to call the title. This season has seen Ferrari come back over and over again. I will be keen to see how things develop in Malaysia, there are at least 4-5 corners where I think the Ferraris will have the edge because of their superior traction. I would not be shocked if Ferrari ...

Re: Vettel / Verstappen / Raikkonen Clash! Who to blame?
Watching the video again, I think Verstappen also has to take some blame. The initial contact was Kimi's right rear wheel with Vertstappen's front left wheel. This happened because Verstappen was moving across on Kimi (who was running out of room). Yes, Verstappen was reacting to Vettel, but there ...

Honda with STR could be a blessing in disguise. They have shown improvements last year but may be due to too much pressure from Mclaren. This year engine is more unreliable. It could be a design issue also to meet the Mclaren deadline they tried something and it got worse. But anyways I do not think...

Re: So is that that for the title battle?
Remaining tracks Mercedes will be strong. Probably not the dominance of Monza. But enough to control the race and qualifying they have the advantage. Vettel still can win but needs luck. Like in Baku, Hamilton was cruising and the headset got loose somehow. So he had to do extra pit stop. I have ne...

Re: So is that that for the title battle?
Is it the end? No, it's the beginning of Vettel playing catchup. With any luck he'll be much more calm and measured in his approach. Max was right when he said that someone fighting for the championship should not be driving without assessing the down side of any action taken. As many have said, I ...

Without reading a single post on here the ONLY one to blame was Vettel. Sorry but there are plenty more races to go and it is unwise to make desperate moves because you want to finish first. Kimi's move was text book and flawless and he did not turn into Verstappen. If you actually pay closer attention you will notice Verstappen sees Vettel beginning to put the squeeze...

Mclaren will provide a good testing ground for them.
I suspect they have a long term eye on completely buying over Torro Rosso. Can't see Honda just preferring to supply engines.

Re: So is that that for the title battle?
This explains Seb's desperation in getting maximum points at SGP. The season is predictable. Ferrari better on high downforce tracks and Mercedes the others. For all the fuss about Seb's accident, the truth is winning in SGP would only give Seb short term joy. The best car will always have the final...

Re: Vettel / Verstappen / Raikkonen Clash! Who to blame?
I agree that it is a bit unfair to blame Vettel. Both Vettel and Max head towards each other at the beginning, Max initially, then Vettel, a bit more sharp. It is an unseen Kimi that eventually started the chain reaction. But sometimes it is just bad luck, no one's fault specifically. Also, in my o...

I wonder why so many people are blaming Vettel for this incident. He was clearly ahead and not involved in the initial contact. Both Ferrari's were in front of Verstappen and he should have backed out. But of course he didn't do that, because he never does. Which is why, in spite of his obvious spe...

Huge turn around for the title, I nearly wrote it yesterday but didn't but I was going to say Vettel can lose the title IF he DNF's tomorrow and its how it played out. blames Vettel, but more from a mental perspective. He should not swerve as he needs the points.
Key question. What if Max wasn't there? Would Kimi hit Vettel? I believe they would have touched at the very least.

Whilst Verstappen & Raikkonen made contact first, this was only due to Verstappen being squeezed by Vettel. Remove all driver aids.
The last driver aid I know of is gear shifting using clutch assistance. Make the drivers shift manually using a clutch pedal. It will definitely expose some of them.

It's not a fallacy. Renault and Mclaren both need each other, for now. When Renault becomes a top 3 team, they will stop supplying to Mclaren.

I agree with that sentiment, a driver that has collisions can learn to stop having them / take less risk. A slower driver can not become faster. Whilst I prefer Dan, Max can easily become a better driver by just playing the long game a bit more. Dan's slight speed disadvantage, well there isn't any...
