Re: The Official Gaming Thread

The odd thing I'm finding with Destiny is that I constantly bitch about it, but can't stop playing it! My main issues are the same as you said - it basically just needs more of everything. The DLC should add a lot of this, but I'm not sure if I want to get this when there are a lot of games in the ...

Re: The Official Gaming Thread

I really get the feeling the game is aimed at competitive muliplay much more than co-op multiplay. Not so sure about that, seems like putting in harder and harder strikes has been their main focus so far. It's not as good as it should be considering the budget and time put in but I'm still having f...

Re: NFL thread

Huge win for Cardinals, finally got the best of the 49ers - gives them a chance of opening up a big record before a horrible end of season run of games. Cracking finish to the Seahawks/Broncos game, but can't help but feel a little cheated Manning had no chance to even the score.

Any of you into fantasy football? This year, again, I am in two CDM leagues, one was a draft league, the other a Points Challenge league. Won my first game in one league, getting my butt kicked in the other. Aye, 2nd year playing it, currently have two teams. My knowledge beyond the first few round...

Re: The Official Gaming Thread

Anyone else have a go at the Destiny beta over the weekend? Seemed pretty fun, it felt like a few games combined into one but a nice mix of fun and challenge. I've been waiting for a game worth getting to upgrade to the XBone, hoping this might be it.

Re: The Official Gaming Thread

I always think a re-release, especially if the game has mulitple entries after that points (i.e Halo: Ann is Halo: CE remade, and they had a few Halo games between them) should incorporate new features into the game as long as they made sense. Aye. I'd be interested to see what they do with Mass Ef...

Re: The Official Football Thread

When Jermaine Jones scored I screamed at the top of my lungs. One of those moments where you hope it goes in, but don't expect it to; when it does, there is just intense jubilation. My 7 year old son and I went crazy. Just a fantastic strike that left the keeper rooted to his position in disbelief....

E3 - Backwards compatibility for Xbone would all but guarantee they get my money. I'm still somewhat undecided between PS4 and Xbone, though if I need to pay to play online with both services, I'd probably go for XBL over PSN. Beyond that, I'd love a new Mass Effect game. Not sure what else I'd lik...

Last season Bayern were imperious in Europe, loosing once (against Arsenal after they thought they had the job before the second leg even started). This year, they've lost to City in the group stages, got held by a United side and held by Arsenal as well. It's a bit unfair to discount a defeat and ...

Wouldn't worry too much about Everton just yet, even if they beat you guys this week. Arsenal's last 5 games are relatively easy while they still have a couple of tough games still to come against top sides.

Actually it was used several years before then, then hijacked by said fans. Nowadays for most people it's just an abbreviation though, I doubt there's any malice behind it now - at least regarding Munich references.

Didn't really matter who United drew, they would be underdogs to any of the other 7 teams left in. If anything it's better for Moyes, losing to Bayern can be justified fairly easily unless they get utterly annihilated.

Bump as we're in the middle of free agency. Pretty happy with Cardinals' moves so far, Veldheer at LT covers a much needed position. Cromartie appears to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder, if he plays like he can do, him and Peterson could well be best CB duo in the NFL. Shame to lose Dansby but ...

Combat drone is great. Spec it for shock, chain lightning and detonate, it will pile into a pack of enemies, stun them and do area damage when it blows up.

Noone's denying any of that, but it's still more likely they turn it on and score 3 against a team notoriously poor away from home, than it is Arsenal or City score 3 away against two of the best sides in Europe.

Play vanguard, at least in ME2 and ME3. Biotic charge is all kinds of fun.

Biotic explosions are most powerful when primer and detonator are both rank 6, if anyone wasn't aware. Helps even more with something like warp/throw which have additional modifiers.

Skynet's motivation is surely just simply self-defence, for the reason you already stated, it would have been shut off otherwise. I don't think the scenario of "what would have happened had humans not tried to pull the plug" ever came up in the series so there's not much else to speculate on.
