Re: Suzuka 1990 vs Adelaide 1994
The Senna incidents with Prost are quite well in the Race To Perfection programs. It's particularly interesting to hear the views of Ron Dennis on Suzuka (reasons understood but absolutely not unacceptable) and Ross Brawn on Adelaide (not OK but considering "we" had results taken away in the season...

Re: 2021 - Exciting lineup & intra-team battles!
There's some interesting battles ahead for sure. Mercedes - Bottas 3.0, 4.0, 4.1 - they're all the same. Meh. Red Bull , well Perez will annoy Verstappen on occasion and do a good job for the team, but it will still ultimately go to the golden boy. Then things get more interesting. Renault: Alonso s...

OK spent a couple of hours updating Page 1 in readiness for 2021. Not many confirmed signings outside of W Series, but if you do know of any, or have any suggestions for first post, please let me know.

Re: Female Racing Drivers
Just saw the news on Sidorkova. It's a good step as she's done national F4 but has also dipped into Rally and tin-tops. She did Spanish F4 in 2019 along with other W series drivers Nerea Marti and Belen Garcia. Between them they pretty much filled the bottom of the table.

Re: Female Racing Drivers
That story of Kimiainen is so disheartening. OK it's in the past but not that long ago. At least the team took a better position on it by the sounds of it. What a depressing experience though. In the meantime, Legge thinks there will be an explosion of female drivers in the next few years here . May...

Just watched the "Beyond Driven" Lella Lombardi documentary on Amazon Prime. Calderon came across really warm, liked her a lot ...

DOLOMITE, your records are more complete than mine; which other drivers, aside from those who retired as WDC, never won after their last title? Villeneuve is the only one I can think of. Possibly Piquet? Even Mansell won again despite never having a full time F1 drive after 1992. Thank to the distr...

Re: Most underrated driver 2000-2020
I see the Montoya/Ralf comparisons a lot like the Kubica/Heidfeld comparison. People say A was overrated because he only narrowly beat B, when I'd argue B was underrated because he came very close to A. That's interesting. I rate Montoya pretty high so I certainly think that fact that Ralf was clos...

I'm looking at it as Hamilton has the seat, they just havent agreed terms. I don't know how much Russell's run will affect discussions, Toto has said its irrelevant. It's inconceivable that Hamilton would go somewhere else or take a sabbatical so just a question of terms. My guess is its more about ...

I voted for Ralf -- not because I think he's the best on that list, but because I think he's frequently written off as a useless scrub, which was definitely not the case. Definitely. If people can avoid measuring him against his brother and instead look at what he managed to do alongside some prett...

Re: Most underrated driver 2000-2020
Thanks for the responses. Some names I expected, some I didn't. There's a definite split of names who had a full career in F1 and didn't make the mark people felt they could have done, and drivers whose career's were too short and deserved more time. In that respect my votes go to Heidfeld in the fi...

Most underrated driver 2000-2020
Just that really - who do you feel is significantly underrated from the last 20 years?
Just for fun, no Champs. Preferably drivers who have had the majority of their careers in this period.
So, who and why?
Poll added with names provided so far (wins/starts)

Not really. It's been a strange ride for sure but he's been backed to go racing and had multiple chances in F1. If that's being treated badly I'm sure a few more drivers would still take it!

Funny you’d mention cross comparisons actually. The main reason why I want Perez at Red Bull is not because it will change anything (Mercedes will retain their dominance), it’s because it will give me a more accurate picture between Hamilton and Verstappen Hamilton-Button-Perez-Verstappen Hamilton ...

I kind of want both here - I like recognising the helmets and drivers by their helmets, but I do also enjoy seeing what they do with the different designs at each race. I think now that they keep their driver numbers and those numbers are generally quite visible, I'm happy that the helmets change. K...

Monza 2008. It was impressive...but also a bit weird. Torro Rosso nowhere at races before and after and even Bourdais qualified 4th. I'm not going to comment on the incident itself, but what does grate with me is how many people/organisations seem to feel the need to comment on this. It's an issue for Haas to deal with as Mazepins employer, and possibly the FIA if they feel it's directly bring the sport into disrepute. That's it,...

Just to be clear this is a discussion about drivers routes into F1 and at what point as fans you feel it becomes clear that the driver has literally bought his way in and doesn't have a CV that would suggest they would otherwise get anywhere near it. These guys are facing the inevitable criticism from some that they simply bought their way into F1.
